They were ok. No frills, but they do the job of getting you where you want to go.
On my return flight I had a horrible, nasty representative at the check-in counter. I had purchased my ticket months ago, when the maximum weight for luggage was 20 kg a piece. After that, they changed the rule to make it 15kg each. I had exactly 20kg (as my ticket specified was the max) and the lady wanted to charge me 8 Euros for each kilo extra. It took some arguing with her, and finally her manager had to intervene and said I was right-- I had bought the ticket when they allowed 20 kg, so I was bound by that rule. It was just annoying and unpleasant. Aside from that, they're just ok.

They are fine until things go wrong - whether it's their fault or not - don't expect any help. You might get your money back - but that's all - and when they let you down it'll cost you a lot more than the few quid you paid for your ticket 6 months ago to make alternative plans at short notice.
Their 'customer service' is all but none existant - you'll never be able to discuss a real problem with anyone who has authority to make a decision. They simply have people to tell you why it's your problem not theirs.
That said, the prices can be very low and when it works well - it's great. You simply need to understand that you get (usually) a low price but for that you take a risk. Most times you'll win, but if you travel up to 4 flights a week with them as I did for 18 months - it'll go seriously wrong at least twice a year.

The service is minimal (yet the staff are friendly) but for the price, which often is very very cheap, they are good.
Some of the newer planes don't have tray tables, which is a bit annoying.
The fast turnarounds they try to achieve, like any airlines, can cause delays. My last RyanAir flight was delayed 90 min.

Ryanair are as good as any other budget airline. They get you where you want go at good prices. The people who knock budget airlines must live on another planet if they think the more established airlines like B.A. dont have the same problems as they do. For e.g. delays, late passenger arrivals etc. It drives me mental when you see people on tv ranting and raving at staff because they are doing there job even though they have turned up late. Do they want the plane to wait for them?

Didn't you see the Channel 4 documentary about them? Didn't you hear about the mess one Ryanair pilot made in Rome and another one in Stockholm when they should have been off duty? Do you like to have to fight for a seat? Do you think the policy "25 minutes only on land" for their planes gives anyone enough time to carry out any check on them? Oh, I forgot, they are cheap.

I have only flied with Ryan Air once, my first in 10 years, the staff were all incredibly helpful and nice (I had a one year old travailing with me) and showed me how to fasten my child’s seatbelt onto my own, obviously didn’t get to see the pilot heard his voice a few times he gave out all the information on times weather flying height and speed etc take off was a bit bumpy but he landed the plane nice and smooth (thankfully). I would travel with them again and the airfare was reasonably priced too.

I think they are great, great value, great destination and great fleet. But I really regret some of their aquisitions. When they bought Buzz, they closed a lot of small airport (as Dijon in France), the result has been terrible for some local economies. They are pushing to hard on communities. I am scared they might take over aerlingus wish is the best company ever. I think it is kind of weird and frightening to see a low cost willing to take over a national company such as aerlingus

Well i think they are good for what they are ,a no frills airline ,great for getting from A to B,i have used them twice once a return from Valencia to Rome and once return from Murcia to Shannon,on both occasions the flights were on time,and there were no other problems.i guess in future there will be some concern on the luggage allowance,but again i think their service is more for the lighter traveller,and you want to take more you pay more.all in all i think they fit a great niche in the market.

I refuse to fly with ryanair. I do not believe airlines who skimp on safety procedures in order to procure 20 minute turnarounds should be allowed to fly passengers. Whether or not these passengers are in any real danger I can't comment on, but it is the principle of the matter which concerns me.

I travelled FREE with them on one of their special offers and they were good. the only thing is that there is a lot of walking to do at Stansted airport and if anyone is disabled they would have a problem as wheelchairs are not provided for the elderly or disabled. Apart from that they are excellent.
