In the answers to my previous question 2 people wrote me that Russia is Gog. One of them called it Soviet Union and told me that in Ezekiel 38-39 it's written what will happen to it. I want to know if this idea is somehow common among Christians and how literally you take it. I would also like to know if this is taught by some specific denomination.

It's not the Soviet Union. It is Russia.
Oh, very definitely, and I’ll tell you why. This is exciting, and I’ve said this for years, and it’s come to pass. Ezekiel chapter 38, we have Gog, Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Rosh. All cities in Russia today. As the war of the latter years, and the latter days, Ezekiel 38:8-16. As they come from the north against Israel, Ezekiel 38:15-16. North of Israel, of course, is Russia.
But there’s another army there and it’s Tarshish, with all of her young lions, Ezekiel 38:13. And that is great Britain; the Great Lion of Britain is the insignia of the nation like the Eagle is of America. And there it says Tarshish with all of her young lions, that’s the English speaking nations of the world united for the great war, when they go up against Jerusalem and the American people and the English speaking people are on the side of God and His chosen people the Israelites

NO, i beleive that Gog is Satan the Devil. Now Magog does refer to one of the northern tribes of the sons of Japheth( aryan race from Noah), but this is a prophtetic book. Earlier, in Ezekiel 28 ; 11- 20, it refers to the King of Tyre, but notice the wording. It describes Satan and what he did in the garden of Eden. I wish i had more time to answer, but if this series of ?'s continue, i will do more research and present more scriptural evidence.

There is a Jewish tradition that Meshech and Tuval (parts of Gog) are places in Russia.

NO Russia is being a sissy by helping the commies in NK (north korea) to build nukes that they will most likely use to kill americans in usa. By the way they won't kill us all, Only 15,000 people will actually die. 99% of the people will survive a nuke attack. I saw that a couple nights ago on CNN's Glen Beckett show.
