I am planning a trip to Aruba for late Jan-early Feb 07 and my husband wants all inclusive in the low rise area. Any suggestions?

Yes, I have been there and loved it. We stayed at the Divi All-Inclusive and it is just that. They pick you up at the airport on a nice air conditioned bus and the fun starts there.
The rooms are nice, all with great views. The beach is white sand and fabulous. And with it being all-inclusive you just wear a wrist band and then eat and drink all day if you like. You can also walk a short distance down the beach to the Tamarin and use their beach and eat at their restaurants. There are multiple pools to use too, the main one at the Divi is beautiful. The food was great too. Oven fired pizza at the Divi is really good.
There is also an onsite spa for all the personal pampering you want.
There are always taxis out front to take you whereever you want to go. We rented a jeep and went exploring on our own and felt very safe doing so. It is a small island so the chances of getting lost are slim.
I recommend going there. Trust me, I was recently in Jamaica and it was very disappointing. Aruba was much, much better. Jamiaca is poor of the poor, street beggers and you just don't feel safe to even leave the resort.
I cannot wait to go back to Aruba. Please feel free to email me should you have any other questions.

Suggestions would be to look at maybe another island. I guess Aruba is just one of those places seem to either love or hate Aruba.

May I ask how you came about looking at Aruba? Aruba in my opinion is just flat and desert like. There are just so many other islands in the Caribbean is beautiful.

As far as the Divi resort, I don't have a lot of feedback. But I will say over the course of years I have been doing it I don't get the best feedback from Aruba in general.

It seems the ones who have never been to the Caribbean before and Aruba is there first experience, then they love it. Others who have experienced other islands first tend to go to Aruba and are disappointed.

Let me know if there is anything further I can help you with. Feel free to email me and I can send you my contact info.

The beach behind the Divi and Tamarijn Resorts is just wonderful. Incredibly beautiful. Aruba is an ideal place to relax, especially with a romantic buddy. The Divi and the Tamarijn market themselves as "boutique" hotels and have just undergone renovation. They are green hotels also and have won many awards. Both are particularly popular with European tourists. Europeans like the boutique concept, which gives a hotel a special charm and coziness. Aruba's the best!
