Banana and carrots are fine in moderation. It's probably easier to give you a link to what your dog should not eat.

The world's oldest dog, listed in Guinness, died last year at 27 years old.. She was a Border collie, living in UK. She was raised totally vegetarian, fed on a lentil based diet with fresh garden vegetables..
Veggies ARE good for our dogs, no matter what old wives' tales say..
No onion, potato peel, grapes or raisins, easy on any of the cabbage family and easy on the tomatoes..no apple seeds, no fruit pits no tree nuts.
the current oldest dog is also 27 this year, and living in Australia..A Queensland heeler, raised on only kangaroo and emu meat! Go figure! sure shoots our ideas of canine nutritional needs all to heck..huh

I own 4 dogs 1 German Shepperd and 3 Pomeranian's. They all eat the vegetables left over after dinner and any food scraps really, and I make a point of cooking more to give them. They also eat rice. They do not like fruit that much but one of them likes to have some orange when I am. Other than that they get a mixture of Good dry food and some canned food.
None have hurt them, in fact they have lovely shiny coats because of it, even our Vet comments on that. I also give them parsley as that helps great with Doggy Breath
Vets recommend to give dogs vegetables.....someone below me dont know what he is talking about.

There is a doggie cookbook you can find at Barnes and Noble and hundreds of recipes and even a food pyramid. There are lists of all the things that they can eat and you would be amazed at what you can give them. It may leave you in disbelief but the first couple of pages are about the authors and where all the research was gathered from. There were many specialists, doctors and professors that contributed to the book so i believe them all.

Most any except Grapes and Raisins. That I know of....if they will eat fruit and veggies great! Many dogs aren't keen on them...try them raw and cooked as you know yourself some taste better one way or the other to you. Dogs taste things and have their own personal likes and dislikes....

Mine also like apples, just make sure you cut them so they don't get the core. They eat all kinds of veggies including cucumbers, and tomatoes, and absolutely love strawberries!

Both of my dogs love bananas but I only give them a little bit. My younger one also loves baby carrots. I think anything they like is ok as long as you don't let them have too much.
