okay. I don't know what kind of Password protection is this...There are 2 types, first is the Windows protection which you activate through the Control panel & then, "User Accounts " in Windows XP. Second is the boot protection. Well, if you have the Windows protection that is the first case, I can help you. Turn on the pwer for your CPU, as soon as the CPU starts, keep pressing "F8". Your computer show you some options...Select the "Safe mode", then log into it as "Administrator" & create a new account. And then you can access the files of your old account through this new one. If it is boot protection(which asks for your password before the windows run), I am sorry you'll have to lose all the data. If you still need help, email me or contact me on messenger. email: linkin_park_rocks_my_socks007@yahoo.com

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. The only way to reset your windows password 100% safe is to use a software called Reset Password Pro.

The software allows you to create a boot-disk, that can be made on a CD/DVD or USB stick. The boot-disk can then be inserted into any locked machine, and it's a simple case of pressing reset. Here is their official site: http://www.resetwindowspass.com

Bring your computer to a computer shop or all you have to do is open your cpu remove the battery from the mother board and short the battery terminals for a few seconds. But make sure before you do this everything from the back of your computer is unplugged.
