Bury the animal if you loved it alot make a tombstone being creative, It's okay to CRY over an animal I think they are like little children well my pet cat sniffles seems that way to me. But it helps after you're over the lost to find another pet. I know its hard because you can't never replace the pet you lost.

Take a vacation, get away for a few days. Do something you would not be able to do if your pet was still around. Mourn and if need be cry for your pet, but know that death's a natural part of life.
Don't go out right away and buy a new pet. Look around, take your time, and when you finally do see that little fuzzy face that you can't live without, that's the time to pick up a new pet. Don't just get one "on the rebound", make sure you get it because you want it.

I'm so sorry you lost your beloved cat! It is so tough, and you really have lost a member of your family.
First, allow yourself to grieve. It is not silly or immature or anything like that to grieve over the loss of a pet. Some people may say that or make you feel that way, but it is just not true.
Second, see how you're feeling over time and when you feel you're ready...go for another cat!! Lots of people at first say they never want another pet for fear of going through another loss, but really it is a great way to fill up some of that void your pet has left in your heart.

After you get through the initial grieving time get another pet. It really helps getting over the loss and so many pets sure need a good home.

"Timsgurl" - get another pet. Don't try to feel the same about your new pet as you did your old, just let the relationship develop naturally. I have had several cats as pets. Each one has been a different relationship. Kind of like my various girlfriends! haha...
To the idiot that posted above me ("???"). Next time I feel angry at a person, I am going to kick you in the ***! Okay?!

My 14 year old cat died of cancer! I was very sad, I cried a lot, I saw her everywhere in the house! Two months later I adopted a kitten and it really helps. I will never forget my other cat, she will always be in my heart but having another cat really helps with the grieving and the kitten looks just like my other cat. Sometimes, I think it's her! It takes a lot of time to get over an animal that you loved but you will feel better in time and you should get yourself a kitten

'No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch." Leo Dworken
I can still grieve over the loss of my Spookie three years ago. He will always remain in my thoughts and heart. It is very painful at first and then the good memories begin to replace the pain. It just takes time like any grieving.
May your cat's spirit and charm remain with you always. If you don't have any other cats when you are ready there is another waiting out there for you who needs your love and care.

Nobody can tell you how to handle your grief. You have to do what comes naturally to you. If you wanna cry for weeks, then cry for weeks. Everybody handles these kinds of things differently. I had to put my kitty down after a wonderful 19 years with her. I cried and cried for a couple of days then I went to my local cat shelter and got another one and it was the best thing I could have done! You just do what you need to, okay? God bless.

You ca do anything you did before your pet died. You will probably get over it the quickest if you get another.

cry. if you want to keep it(stuffed/freeze dried) then pop it in a plastic bag and freeze right away. Before you give your pet to the taxidermy man ask to see some of his finished work.
