Check for a relatively small engined car, under 1300cc, look for one with a low insurance group, this will be the most expensive part of running a car. Possible types are Vauxhall Nova 1 litre or 1.2 litre, Vauxhall Corsa 1 litre or 1.2 litre, Ford Fiesta 1.1 litre, these should be relatively cheap to insure and economical too. Next ones might be a Renault Clio 1.2 litre, Fiat Uno 1.2 litre. You could also have a go at a few insurance company websites to get an idea of insurance quotations, they will ask for date of birth and how long you have held a licence for. Use realistic information and you should get an idea as to the cost of insurance.

You can't really say what kind of car you can get. If you think about it if people don't have much money they try to find a car within their price rang actually you should check out the monthly payments also if you don't it can cast you a lot. companies try to trick you once you buy the car you got more what you suppose to pay. If you don't make much money then it's best to find an used car. Even buying $90,000 car can end up being higher (it happened to me that's y I'm telling u before u fall into the hole)
Go to different car places and ask questions. take your time with it. If you need more help I can help you with this. If u like Butterflies8805@yahoo.com

My first Car was a Ford Ka which I got when I was learning to drive (I have had it for 5 years now). It is really easy to drive, with good clutch control. I found it a fantastic little car, its easy to park, nippy around town, only cost £35 to fill up the petrol tank and best of all because its a 1.3 engine to insurance isn't expensive.

Have to recommend a Daewoo Matiz. Reliable, zippy, 4 doors. Low insurance, low road tax and also will take less petrol. Dont think coz its a 800cc that its got no power, i found mine quite zippy on the road. Also it was great to put the seats down and make it into a wee van, excellent car and very adaptable!!

I brought my first car off of my driving instructor, I knew it had been looked after well, yeah it had a lot of miles but was in great condition as they have to keep them in tip top
I have had my car for 3 years now and have never had a problem with it
ask your driving school if they are replacing there cars soon i think they have to do this every three years

Just get the best you can for your money - engine no bigger than 1.2L (for cheaper insurance) so you're pretty much limited to petrol. As new as you can get and preferably with service history. Vauxhall corsa, Ford Fiesta etc are cheap and practical - you're gonna have to wait till your insurance goes down before you can get some bling i'm afraid!

im a fan of japanese. the cheap kind...like $300-1k. if you dont pass your test you will get your money back out of it. import parts are cheaper than they were 10 years ago and they get good milage. oh yeah...for that price they are probably ugly though. i bought an 86 toyota pu for 300 and it needed new tires and battery(it was owned by a construction contractor and had hit a deer. my cousin bought 88 ranger for 2600 and the transmision broke(dropping his drive shaft on the freeway) after he had it 10k miles. his sure did look alot better parked in his backyard than mine does parked in the driveway though.
