He probably pees and poops on the basement floor because he knows you're going to leave him chained in the basement. He probably chews on stuff because he's probably anxious you're going to chain him up again and it makes him feel better. If you're going to get a dog, make sure you have the space for it and the time for it. Chaining him up in a place where no one spends time is just going to make him aggressive and nervous, ie the peeing and pooping and chewing.

Because you're neglecting the poor thing. Dogs dont need to be chained up, especially inside. Try crate training, that should help a lot. Take it to obedience courses and stay diligent in your training. If you're not consistent the dog will not know what the rules are. If he pooped in the house right before you went to bed and you were too tired to discipline him, he just learned that he can poop in the house. Next time he does it it's your fault, not his, because you taught him it's ok.
It sounds like you're not treating your puppy very well. He needs to be with you as much as possible, not chained in the basement. What's the fun in having an animal chained in your basement, anyway?Either do a drastic change and actually start caring for the little thing, or give it away. Not everyone was meant to have pets.

My suggestion is to give this dog to someone else! NEVER CHAIN a dog! That is the First thing you are doing to him that is training him to be an agressive dog eventually if not already. Then there is the factor of the smells are now embedded into the concrete...concrete is highly absorbant, you will need to use professional cleaners to try to remove any remnants of the urine and fecal smells! Third, he is a social animal and you are chaining him in a basement? I bet it's dank, dark and damp! HELLO! You should try it yourself and tell us what is wrong with that picture! NOT A GOOD THING! The chewing is because he is not getting enough exercise and he is totally bored! NO ONE IS PAYING HIM ANY Quality time and attention and he is not a part of the pack the way he is treated he is only a captured animal at this stage....GIVE THE DOG AWAY...the sooner the better for all concerned. Stick to raising something simple like dough! Unfortunately, you are one of many..."Owners from Hell"

Don't chain the puppy in the basement. It's not good for him or your stuff. When you feed him, take hom out about 30-45 minutes afterward. If he pees, give him one treat, if he does both, give him two. DON'T feed him in the basement.
Get a teething toy for him. He'll chew that rather than your brand new shoes, and when you leave, just put him in a crate. Don't chain him up.

maybe chaining him up in the basement is a little cruel.. animals are more spiteful and smart than people give them credit for. Why get an animal to chain him in the basement? Try not chaining him but use a gate to keep him in one room so that he has freedom, but not the run of the house. Also, if you cant do that maybe you should give him away to someone who has a nice backyard or someone who will always be there with him, cause like children.. puppies need lots of love and attention.

You're probably not keeping him out long enough. When you take him out, you need to stay with him until he goes, then reward him with a treat. This has nothing to do with anything he's goind wrong, it's just your patience that's coming into play. Ah...the joy of raising a puppy!
In regards to the chewing, he's probably teething. Keep things like that off the floor where he can get them and provide good things for him to chew on!
By the way, WHY are you leaving a puppy "chained up!!!" Read up on crate-training and DO IT :)

Exactly, he's a puppy. If you weren't prepared to deal with a puppy then you should have gotten a full grown, house-trained, grown out of the chewing stage dog.
Why don't you try crate training instead of keeping your puppy "chained up in your basement".

Puppies chew to ease the discomfort of their teething, NOT to ruin your house or things in it. It is YOUR responsibility to puppy proof your home and keep things out of his reach.

whether this sounds merciless, you may desire to positioned his nostril by using the pee and say in a company voice 'No' then positioned him exterior. once you notice him do his stuff exterior compliment him and say what a solid boy, and fuss him like mad. you do not must be merciless. we've finished this with our canines and after a pair of days it worked. If this would not paintings then there could be some thing incorrect with the canines, and you will ought to take him to the vet. My canines Scamp began to clutter in the homestead whilst he became approximately 2, we took him to the vet and we've been advised to feed him chappie (much less costly canines food with cereal in it) he gave him caline and morphine and he stopped doing it interior. He mandatory extra roughage and would not eat the mixer biscuits so we proceed to feed him chappie and he's been positive ever when you consider that.

Well If he's doing his business on the floor in the house it's because he wasn't trained properly to begin with. As for his chewing everything, It's mostly caused because he's bored. Dog's need a lot of attenction and like to be around people. They love to play and play LOTS.

You need to crate train the puppy. When you leave you need to put him in a crate as they usually do not mess in their sleeping area. When you get home take him outside right away and when he does his business give him a treat and lots of praise to let him know he did a good job and he will eventually get the idea that he only goes potty outside.
