Mild food poisiening can be when you get a stomach ache to feeling generally not good or sick and you feel nauseated. You vomit too and you can also get diahhrea and low grade fever as well and these symptoms usually last for couple of hours and they disappear on it's own. You recover from these symptoms.

Severe food poisening is when you get nausea, dizziness, stomach ache, high fever, diahria especially bloody diahrea which when you drink something that's contaminated with ecoli (especially E.coli 0157:H7 )
Some food borne pathogens make toxins that makes you dehydrated which results in you having diahhrea

For severe food poisening.

If you have severe vomiting which lasts for longer is it’s usually staphylococcus aureus food poisening

Another type of severe food poiseining is when you get muscle pain and your muscles paralize (they just freeze up) That happens when you get clostridium boutilinism food poisoning (from eating canned food products that’s been sitting out for a while). That leads to respitory failure because the muscles in your lungs just freeze up and they no longer do their function.

clostridium botulinimum is an organism which makes a toxin which make your muscles lock up.

Another worse one is when you get septicemia which happens when food borne microbes get into your blood stream. They literally do kidney damage, liver damage and that’s when death results.

These symptoms require hospital treatment.

The symptoms from the most common types of food poisoning generally start within 2 to 6 hours of eating the food responsible. That time may be longer (even a number of days) or shorter, depending on the toxin or organism responsible for the food poisoning. The possible symptoms include:

Nausea and vomiting
Abdominal cramps
Diarrhea (may be bloody)
Fever and chills
Weakness (may be serious and lead to respiratory arrest, as in the case of botulism)
Headache

Abdominal pain, cramping, vomiting, and diarrhea. Diarrhea and vomiting can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Anyone who suspects they have food poisoning should go to their local emergency department. They would report the incident to their local Public Health Department for investigation, so the problem can be addressed before more people get ill.
