Most dogs are fully grown and developed by the age of two. That means that their height and weight should be at it's peak unless overfed and under exercised. The development of bone and muscle mass will most likely be maxed at the age of two unless of course you suddenly change the lifestyle of the dod...more exercise and the more strenuous it is will cause a bit more muscle mass otherwise physically and mentally you are looking at your fully grown dog....more mental development will come and usually by 31/2 to 4 years they are exactly who they will forever be with you. More puppy-ish thinking will pass over to more of adult-dog thinking and playing. They will think before acting for t he most part at 4.

By the age of 2 is usually when the bodies are done growing, but they can still fill out some until the age of 3.
My vet says a good way to gage is looking at your dog at 4 months of age, and in most cases, the dog will double in size and weight of what they are at 4 months. So maybe check your shots records with your vet to find out what your pup weighed then and that should give you a good idea. The size of the pups parents are also a good way to gage the general size you dog will end up being at full growth, too.

It depends on the breed of the dog. Small and medium sized dogs are as large was they're going to be at 6-9 months of age; they then start packing on muscle. Larger dogs can take up to 2 years to stop growing.

There's no way of knowing for sure about your friend's dog. What kind of schnauzer was in the mix would give a clue. Most dogs reach their final height within a year, but often they spend the next six months or more "filling out" a bit. Very large breeds take more time, very small breeds less time.

Dogs usually reach their full growth at about 18 months but continue to fill out until they are 2.

Most dogs are fully grown at 18-36 months depending on the breed.. Ask your breeder... he should weigh about 60 -100 lbs when grown. you dont want him to weigh to much at this age if his bones are not ready for weight..
