Private - who needs literacy when you have money? Just get your private secretary or in your younger years your nanny to do it for you.

Seriously, I would say that there wasn't much difference between state and private schools

I doubt whether there is much to choose from. After all, parents are a child's first educator and what you actually get in a Reception class is a wide range from couldn't be bothered to I really enjoy spending time with my child. In my opinion, it is actually up to the parents to provide education for their child. If you can read and write yourself, you can teach it to your own child.
