Lexapro is a great medication. I'm a therapist, and a lot of my clients are on it. One thing that I do caution people about is that the drug can take up to three months to take effect. Please continue to take it. Some people get frusterated after 6 weeks of not feeling better and stop taking the drug, but it often can take as long as 3 months for the drug to properly build up in your system. In the meantime, if you depression or anxiety gets to a point where it effects your social or occupational functioning (can't go to work, don't want to see anyone, etc.), please contact your mental health professional. On the whole, though, I've found Lexapro to be very effective for many of my clients. Good luck!

My boyfriend was on the two year plan with Lexapro for depression and anxiety. It really helped him. He has made a complete recovery and it has been almost a year since he got off the meds without any relapse. The main concern is the period of weaning the medication out of your system. If you don't follow the plan of dosage, it can cause serious heart problems, stress, anxiety, hallucinations, and blood clot. Lexapro is really a good drug if you follow dosing instructions dependent upon what you're taking it for.

Dont take it now initiate interior the morning. Meds like lexapro can improve potential which lifts your temper yet additionally will screw over slumbering varieties each and every now and then. And taking it that close at the same time does no longer be sturdy nor could it "velocity up" the restoration technique. It lasts approximately 24 hours so which you would be able to purely be overdosing. purely wait till you awaken interior the morning and you would be ok. i'm uncertain what MG you're on yet i became on 20mg and it worked amazingly properly on an identical time as i took it.

I switched to Lexapro from Celexa and had fewer side effects. I have been on Lexapro for about 5 years now, and it seems to be doing a good job.

Definitely. I switched to it after gaining a ton of weight from Zoloft. Within two months, I'd already lost 7 pounds. As I recall, it did help with my depression and anxiety.

I have taken it with good results. It is rather expensive though, if the patient does not have insurance.
