Instead of soap or shaving gel, use lotion or cheap hair conditioner.

If you are talking about your bikini line, to prevent the red bumps: Make a mixture of 2 oz. isopropyl alcohol, 2 oz. witch hazel, and 12 aspirin (must be aspirin, not Tylenol). Dissolve the aspirin and apply to the area with a cotton ball. Also, use a stick anti-perspirant on the bikini area every morning and evening.

Good luck!

When I take a shower or bath, I always let my legs soak in very warm water (if not hot) before I shave. This opens the pores in my legs. I use shaving gel because it is thicker than cream and won't run off. When you first shave, shave with the grain (so downward on your legs), then come back up. Rinse your legs well with warm water to get the residue off and to prevent any irritation. Then put a hypoallergenic lotion on your legs, armpits, or wherever it is you are shaving to keep the irritation down. it sounds like you may be shaving too much also. if you are shaving daily, cut it down to every other day. If you are shaving stubble contsantly, you are pulling more skin off of your body than hair, which will lead to wild irritation.... Had it happen on my C U Next Tuesday before because I was shaving WAAAAAAY too much down yonder! My gyno told me that one..... so, anyway. Give that a whirl! Best of luck to you and your shaving adventures!

Shave in the shower. You hair is softer and more easier to cut. Also try using shaving cream with a new razor. After you shave, apply lotion onto your freshly shaved spot.

When you shave you actually take a small layer of skin off no matter what type of cream, soap or gel you use if legs is all that you are shaving use a hair removal cream, gel If other more personal places are being shaved use a cream or gel designed for that area otherwise you will regret it

You have the obvious now(shave cream and a good new blade) Now make sure you have soaked the area you are going to shave for awhile so the hair softens up. After you have shaved I put either newsprint or hydro-cortisone cream on..And make sure you exfoliate daily that will help with ingrown hairs and the bumps.

First, have a good razor- Fusion has five blades and gives an excellent close shave. Wet your skin and apply shaving cream for sensitive skin. After shaving rinse with hot and then cold water to close pores and apply a good moisturizer. Clinique or Keihl have excellent products.

Use a heavy duty moisturizer when you shave. Apply the moisturizer first and then start shaving. Do not use soap or soapy items to shave. These cleanse and at the same time cause dryness.
