Hi folks

I just wanna know that what file format does CD changer plays. I am jut inserting CD with files in MP3 format and my CD changer shows ERR errorm message.

What can be the problem?

I guess it might be with file format and CD changer might be too choosy with respect to it?

To correct ebrake24,

it's NOT .WAV files, it's .CDA files.

A .WAV file is an actual format strictly for computers, nothing else.

All store bought CD's are in .CDA format.

Car audio systems play almost any CD that have sound files on them. If it is not a multi-play (plays all formats) some CDs made on a computer will not work. Older systems were not multi-play, so if you make your own music CDs you must check the option when burning a CD to make it play on non multi-play systems. Some of the older burning programs, if used on your computer, the disc would only play on your computer.

It might not be the file format that's the problem. Some decks can only read CD-R, others CD+R. Newer deck can read both CD formats.

no one can really correctly answer your question correctly w/o knowing what kind of cd changer you have. but to narrow down, if it is an oem cd changer it more than likely cannot support mp3. formats. some aftermarket changers can play mp3 formats, but not all
