I bought a kettle 2 months ago, and it is faulty. I know for a fact that the shop don't supply this particular model any more. Do I have to have the nearest model, or can I demand a full refund?

if you still have the receipt then you will have no problem but am not sure if you"ll get your money back most retail store will only give you a replacement at the same value of the one you bought

i had this problem only last week my kettle broke after i had it for 6 months and they replaced it no problem most of them have 1 year guarantee's

Stop worrying!
It does not matter that they do not stock it anymore. It is still under full guarantee. If it is faulty you are entitled to the full refund and it is the responsibility of the shop to deal with the manufacturer.
The only instance where they can only offer you the nearest model rather than a refund is if you cannot produce your receipt.

If you have your proof of purchase and decide on a different model, if it is cheaper they should refund the difference, if it is more expensive you would have to top up what you paid initially.

Yes you can get a full refund long as you have the receipt with you. Or call the toll free number on the package to contact the manufacturer for complaints. Most probably they will send you a new one to keep their customers happy. Happy customers bring in new customers and it's a hugh profit by selling more of their products. Last thing they want to hear is unsatisfied customers.

Hi I have a agood knowledge of consummer rights, firstly do you have a reciept? if 'yes' you can have a full refund, if 'no' can you get a bank statement to prove the purchase (basically they want to know it isnt stollen-not saying it is but its the way it is) even if you havent got a reciept they will give you an exchange because you purchased'FAULTY GOODS' they should remember you its only been 2 months. Ask them to check thier database for your purchase of if they have security cameras they could always check them. Good luck let me know what happens :-) Hayley-May

If you have the receipt and a warrantee card of item purchased, you can claim for a free repair / replacement. You can ask for refund if the same is beyond repair and the supplier fail to replace the faulty one. In case he refuse, you can lodge your complaint in the "Consumer's forum" in your city.

If it's faulty you can demand a refund ( my wife worked in an electrical shop and she told me).

I think you should demand a refund. The shop must comply with the sale of goods act.

They should offer you another model if you want one but you will have to pay the price difference if it is more expensive or you are entitled to a full refund. It's your choice.
