The war in Iraq will never end. You can not win against the terrorist with an army. An army can fight an army or destroy a country, but is a target for terrorist. To fight terrorist, we need neighborhood watches all over the world to find the terrorist and report them to the police or military.

The purpose of our war in Iraq was to get the president elected for a second term and secure an oil supply for the big oil people.

Bush should be tried for treason for betraying his country. The information presented was not correct. Our country is in serious trouble and may never be able to recover financially or militarily.

Whether the 2010 thing is for real or not, who knows. During the cold-war the military made plans to nuke the USSR. Contingency plans.

Richard Nixon not only continued the Vietnam war, but expanded it after taking over from the disgraceful LBJ. And Henry Kissinger was right there. Just like he hangs around Bush, spinning all kinds of wormy realpolitik schemes.

Seems like tricky dicky didn't quit the thing until he was booted out.

Prediction: Once a demo is in the White House, he will act all humble and shameful ("Mah fella Amuricans...") and tell a resigned public that due to factors that were not anticipated, it would be unsafe to bring our troops home at the present time. Then they will be pulled in time to have a good run at 2012, unless some terrorist attack on our "homeland" occurs, as if by magic, then they can pin it on Iran and proceed with their mid-east ambitions.

By the spring of 2007, the Iraqi war will have turned into a civil war of unimaginable proportions, completely out of control and unable to be settled through any peaceful means.
This is exactly what the Bush administration wants, because it can then maintain its presence in Iraq until it sucks every drop of OIL from that nation's sands.
Why else would the U.S. be building the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad, overlooking the headquarters of the 'new' Iraqi government which the U.S. installed as a puppet regime?
If it looks like the 2008 election will result in a Democratic landslide, Bush's handlers will fabricate another 'terrorist attack' on U.S. soil (this time somewhere in the Midwest). They will then order Bush to declare martial law, claiming that a change in administrations would not be in the best interests of national security. This will give them time to groom Jeb Bush for a Presidential race.
Also by spring, 2007, Bush will invade IRAN, for the very same reason he invaded Iraq: all those rich fields of easily-accessible OIL!
Next on the list: Venezuela! Bush has a personal vendetta against Hugo Chavez (just as his family had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein). Cheney wants the U.S.A. to have more than 5% of its OIL inventories coming from Venezuela, so the U.S. will simply go in and TAKE IT.
The Bush dynasty is adamant about remaining in control of this country, and maintaining its ties with Saudi Arabia and China while it rapes and pillages other countries who have OIL. The Bush family is drenched with OIL profits, and will sell this nation down the tubes in the name of OIL profits. -RKO-

Our government has just decided to keep troops in Iraq until at least 2010, so Bush will be out of office and handing this problem over to the next president.

It is way too soon to know what will happen once we have a different president but rest assured, he'll have plenty of cleanup work to do over in the Middle East.

I don't know the future of the war, I can only trust that we will prevail in the end. However, I am very nervous about Bush leaving office. I feel all Americans should be.
