A test is exactly that, something that tests you. A test does not have to be questions, it can be a practical test, or perhaps even a surprise test, unknown to the one who is being tested. A quiz is usually always questions, since when someone is "quizzed" they are almost always being asked a lot of questions. Also, quizzes are pretty much for fun. Ever heard of a pub test? I doubt people would sign up for THAT!
