Am i strange?
I paint my mother nude.
See agrees.
I'm 20 and have being doing it for 5 years.
Shes not sexy not in my mind anyway and yet i can't stop.
I tried to get insperation with other things.
But i can't.
Is this normal?

Many famous artists like Da Vinci and Rembrant believed that the most difficult object in the world to paint was the human form. The old masters would frequently paint naked women, usually who were in their 60's and 70's, because their skin was more wrinkled and very difficult to draw than the tight skin of a 20 something year old. Being able to paint the most difficult object in the world is an amazing talent, and should be encouraged if you plan to continue into the world of art. Since there is no sexual contact between yourself and your mother, it is perfectly legal. Although....you would probably have a lot of luck with ladies of your own age if you admitted you liked painting people nude and can do it well!

What's normal in art? Sounds like an interesting project if you've been able to capture how her body has changed over 5 years.
Mabey try to set up a gallery of your work. For your own artistic growth it might be an idea to try other subjects to paint.

i note what you say Barry but its not a very healthy situation especially as you seem to be transfixed with the whole thing and i think your mother must be acting in a rather strange manner which makes me think she sees this in a sexual way and incest is just round the corner

Sorry you are a little strange and I am surprised at your Mother - she should know better. You need to go to other life classes youneed to broaden your horizon

I think it strange that you should even want to do this from age 15 to now,very weird don't tell any future girlfriends it will freak them out.

Not sexual, paint away. You'll get interested in a different subject eventually.

Not really. What do you care?
It is consensual. It is art.
It hurts no one.
Do it. If you ever feel the need for counselling, get it, as if you wonder what will become of you one day.
Otherwise...paint away.
