Not legally.
But, instead, they have "sick outs", aka "blue flu", instead of strikes. They call in sick. This has the benefit of being a strike, but still quasi-legal.

In some cities, they can, and have done so, like the New Orleans Police Strike in the 1980's which cancelled regular Mardi Gras.

I am a former cop. Most Police contracts have a no strike clause, you can go on strike but you cannot leave.
I doubt many would anyway, most take their job seriously enough not to let labor practices threaten public safety

When they have the right to form Trade Unions, can you take away the right to strike work ! This is the dichotomy our policy makers should answer.
Ideally unions should be banned in uniformed services. But that's an answer to a different question.

No they can't, most unions have some kind of no strike clause. Personally I think that needs to change because a lot of agencies abuse their personnel's rights as employees.

And ask for what? More money yet? Fewer thugs on the streets? More minorities to harass?
Their unions normally have the "no strike, no lockouts" clause somewhere... So no, they can't go to strike

No they are not allowed to by law,
They have had large "sick" days, but there are many jobs that are not allowed to go on strike without government permission

i think of all people who're in Jobs, if not getting payed enouth, or have own reasons could desire to be aloud to bypass into strikes. so some distance as law enforcement officials bypass, i don't think of they could desire to bypass on a strike, yet i think of they def have their share... in case you think of violence and crime for 2 days, the police in London, England, Edinburgh, Scotland etc those places have a-lot of crime; if the Police went off for 2 days, a million day even - maximum of unsolved crimes could be waiting for them, and the respond could be; '' in case you wasn't on strike, possibly you need to of saved me youngster ''..
