You're in the same situation I was in! If you have money to pay for home-school (exams, books, etc.) you can go to www.americanschoolofcorr.com and have test, books, exams, etc. mailed to you. You just read the books, complete the test, mail them in, and you'll get a diploma. If you want to go to college take the college prep courses! I highly recommend this school! It has teachers that grade your test, counselors, guidance, people you can talk to! Good luck! If you need more than 1 year of H.S go to tha site, and look up the prices. Please make sure you talk to someone about how PS was. My experience was TERRIBLE! Good luck!

Just one comment....there are MANY DIPLOMA programs offered within different states where kids get an official state approved diploma. I live in PA and here, in my area you can go through the Mason Dixon Homeschool Association. They offer three or four different types of diploma programs...you should check out their web site www.mdhsa.pa.net There are programs like this all over. They tell you what you NEED to have to get the diploma, you have to keep detailed records, but it isn't that hard. Here, they have an annual graduation ceremony held on the Gettysburg Battlefield. It is really cool.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do. Don't feel afraid of following your heart. There are loads of local support groups everywhere and co-op classes where you can learn with other kids you age. Again, good luck.

You should start at www.hslda.org for your state laws.
Then you should look in your phone book, talk to your library or look at Yahoo Groups to find a support group.
Costs can be as little or as much as you want. You can learn everything you need to know by using the internet and libraries.
It doesn't take long to actually DO the work. Just a couple of hours, depending on how motivated you are.
Please look seriously into this option. Any education is better than NO education. Please don't let the public school stifle your love of learning.
And, BTW, a GED is a diploma and can be used to get into college.

There are many similar questions in this category. Some of them are specifically about students in your situation who want to be home schooled and have to convince thier parents. Here are some of them:

Well darlin. Tough it out if you can. My sis was home schooled from Kindergarten and at 16 got her GED and started college since when you are homeschooled you cannot get a diploma.
