It is a sad day that every time an individual says there against illegal immigration they in fact are labled a racist. This is simply not true what about the hispanic people that are legal and dont like illegal immigration? This proves the fact that most people are not racist about this subject but in fact people in general are indeed losing there jobs.

It should not happen, but it does.
It is very similar in the Black community (especially the inner city black community). A young black person tries to do well in school, think for his/herself and joins the republican party and hey are ostracized and still called "Uncle Tom" or Oreo or some such thing.
There is a general segragational feeling that still exists and perhaps is natural.
One usually sticks with "one's own kind".
Look at churches. You will find Large Black, Hispanic, White, and Asian (although their is often a lanuage issue involed in these cases) congregations that are basically devoid of other ethnicities. Thse groups often keep an "us against them" metality and therefore they nurture the "protect your own" ideology, even to the detriment of their own group and defintely to society as a whole!
Unfortunately, the Democratic Party has been fostering these growing rifts for years, under the guise of MULTICULTURISM.
Multiculturism, as they bing it forth, is not making a homgenous society, but the forced acceptence, of another group's ideals anda values atthe expense of what you already have, thereby estroying the majority's culture.
How could this NOT cause a backlash and conflict and ill-will?
It is not a "live and let live" concept. IT is quite the opposite and it is invasive and destructive to ALL involved!

Can't speak for all but from those I know that have spoken against amnesty.....they do not get a very warm welcome. They get called "racist", have had scalding coffee thrown in their face, chased down and beaten for having an American Flag on their truck at a hispanic festival. One of the leading people in the Illinois Minutemen is a female hispanic and well......you know what they say about the Minutemen, so you know she's catching some rift. They have basically left the 2 hispanic border patrol men out to dry for doing their job while the rest of America is fighting for them. Being an hispanic, and fighting for America and the preservation of our sovereignty and laws is not an easy place to be. They face much hatred for not going along with "their" people and it's not comming from "racist" angelos...it's comming from their own. Which proves to me it's NOT a race issue. It's a legal issue trying to be made into a race issue when it's convenient.

I know a lot of Mexican Americans( they don't like the term Hispanic and have said so) that don't agree or support any illegals from any where. They were very embarrassed by the flag desecration since one family lost a beloved son in Viet Nam,and felt it was an insult to their son. They are all professionals or business owners and have lived here for decades. They are very good people and actively campaign against the illegals from their country as well as all other country's.
These people are my friends and my neighbors.

There is no country called 'hispano', therefore it's impossible to be a hispanic citizen. You can be an american citizen, or a mexican citizen, and have hispanic ethnicity, but there's a difference between ethnicity, and nationality, much as some people might like to blur that particular line.
I think if americans of hispanic descent wish to take an anti-illegal immigration position, they need to do so vocally and visibly, so as to distance themselves from those who hope to profit by systematically breaking our immigration laws. We either have laws, or we don't, laws that are not enforced may as well not exist, and to my view, this is an issue that will continue to be exploited for maximum economic gain by those who believe they are justified in trying to do so, and encouraged to do so by a lack of unity and willingness on the part of some states to really refer to the letter as well as the spirit of the law. Tough choices, complicated decisions, but this is why the legislators get paid the Big Bucks, to solve complex and involved problems such as this.
The mid-term should be interesting, be sure to vote!

Not all illegal immigrants are hispanic, although the majority are. It's a shame when you can't voice your opinion because you will be called a race traitor. I don't think they will get a cold shoulder from everyone, just those that feel strongly about their cause.

I work with many people of Hispanic descent, they seem to have the same views on illegal immigration as the general population.

Well, most of the people that are hispanic and are against immigration it's because they do not want others to have what they do... So instead of losing their jobs to somebody that is better than them but was an illegal immigrant, they oppose it. Plus it just plain stupid to go against your race and not know that people are going to call you a traitor or "white-washed".....jaja look in a mirror.

Because then they are seen as siding with the evil white Americans, when really they are just siding with the law. Too bad most latinos can't get that through their skulls. There is no way to educate them, we have tried that with trying to explain to them that it is illegal, they just don't get that apparently. To the ones that get it, good, keep supporting the law. To the ones that don't, jump back over the border and leave, we only want people here that follow and support the law, not disobey it and help criminals.

No... the majority of Hispanic Americans voted against it... it's mainly the illegals that are pushing the issue so much... not many Americans are actually on their side... I wouldn't lose any sleep over it
