If the person that weights 350 lose 50 lbs and the person that weights 159 can't lose 50 lbs because she would be too small, so what's the best way to determine who lost the most, by doing it fairly for all ladies.

I'd take the difference between the start weight and the goal weight and divide into the actual weight loss.

For example, if Jane weighs 177 and is aiming for 135 that would be 42 lbs. If she loses 28 lbs she gets a rating of 28/42 or .666.

If Sally weighs 210 and is aiming for 140 that would be 70 lbs. If she looses 56 lbs she gets a rating of 56/70 or .800.

Since .800 is greater than .666 Sally wins.

This takes into the start weight, goal weight and actual weight lost. I think that this is the fairest.

Two ways:
You could do percentage. If one person lost 12% of her body weight, and someone else 15%, the 15% would be the winner.
Body composition: If someone starts out at 30% body fat and goes down to 24% and someone else goes from 35% to 25%, the second is the winner because the loss was greater.
But these standards have to be in place BEFORE the competition begins, for fairness.

This is the type of qstns i love: Awesome question.
U break it down by bodyfat%. Who lost the most %. If a woman 159 lbs loses wt, it depends on her height. I would go by BF% though. And your right, heavier woman will lose more wt then a lighter woman of course.
