I know when you're on the Atkins diet you eat a lot of cheese.

I don't eat much, but I like to put a melted slice on top of egg whites. Is this bad? I eat 3 egg whites with slice of cheese every day.

Cheese is actually good for you on a diet - in moderation - because it's a dairy product. You could switch to a 2% cheese if you wanted to help yourself - but new studies have shown that making sure you get your 2-3 servings of dairy a day can help improve weight loss. Dairy products are very important to your body - the calcium in dairy is more effectively absorbed and used than calcium supplements.

So have some cheese, and even a fat-free yogurt and have a great day!

No, that is not bad. So long as you aren't eating cheese all day on every thing you will be just fine. You can actually eat anything you want when you are trying to lose weight so long as you stay active and eat what you want in moderation.

Cheese is full of artery clogging saturated fats and is therefore not particularly good for you!

However, having said that, I'm a firm believer in "everything in moderation". It doesn't sound as if you are gorging on the stuff so I think you should be fine.

Cheese is, however, good for dental health - eating a small cube of cheese after your meals will neutralise any enamel attacking acids in you mouth.

Enjoy!

One slice isn't bad at all. Cheese is high in fat (Thus used on the atkins Diet) and fairly high in calories (100-150 cals per slice), but as long as you don't eat 5 slices with your 3 eggs, that's fine.

There's nothing wrong with eating cheese while dieting. The problem always has to do with the amounts of the foods we eat. One slice a day is great. Cheese is and excellent source of protein.

Cheese can be a source of calcium. Add a glass of skim or lowfat milk and you have 2 of the 3 servings of calcium-rich foods you need for the day.

All foods are allowable on a weight loss diet, provided you do not overindulge and watch you calorie & fat intake.

If youre on a low carb diet, cheese is fine. If youre on low fat, you can buy low fat or fat free cheese, which....is also fine.

An extra tip for you. Benefiber is a Godsend. Its completely tasteless and disolves in anything. (I put it in my coffee in the morning but you can put it in water , juice, tea, even sprinkle it on your food) Its a bit pricey but well worth it. I lost weight much faster when I was using it than I did when I wasn't.
