I read that there is a dog breed that produces dogs that are only the size of a tea cup. They don't get any bigger. I don't know if this breed is found in the U.S. or somewhere else. Does anyone know what type of dog this is. I don't think it's the chihuahua or the yorkie.

I read this in a book I bought from school. I bought it years ago. This dog was known for its size and they showed it (a sketch) in a tea cup. It wasn't called a tea cup dog.

Well, it's really a complex thing, but I'll just tell you what I know.
Some dogs are bred differently than others...they have a "regular' Yorkie...and a tea cup Yorkie. (which is much smaller)
If you ask me, Tea Cups tend to have a lot more health problems then their "Regular" size breed. Yes, they are cute being so small, but Doctor's bills can rise up so tall!!
Anyway, most of the Tea Cups pups that I know are Yorkies.

"teacup" is a size--under 6" at the shoulder (that's for poodles). There are many breeds that offer teacup. Yorkie, poodle, chihuahua.
You need to know that teacup size tend to have more problems (health wise) than the larger breeds.
one problem that seems to be fairly consistent is bad knees (Yorke's, poodles, chihuahua) we had to have both knees operated on on our Yorkie when she was 2 $700 per knee. we have had the little ones toys/teacups for 30 years or so and have had several with bad knees-in the old days we just didn't know about the knees and just suffered through it. many people still just suffer through it rather than spend the money.

There is a dog known as a T CUP chihuahua, but its not really a breed. its known as a tcup, because of its size. these are the smallest of the dog breeds. They are just a really small chihuahua. and are usually very expensive.

There's a teacup poodle aparently. Both small and hypo-allergenic. :)
