I burp about 2 times in an hour, regardless of if I've eaten or not. Its strange, my best friend is calling my burperella because I do it so much. This started about 3-4 months ago, right around the same time I gave up drinking soda. I dont swallow air, or chew gum, or anything that would cause me to burp. What is this? I've seached the net and found nothing- What do you all think?

PS: I do eat granola bar for breakfast with coffee, a chicken sandwich for lunch with yogurt and a healthy choice dinner for dinner and a few hours before bed I have a cup of kelloggs cereal. So its not like I eat alot of food that would cause the gas.

I doubt if it gas in the sense you are referring. Are you a type A person, use a straw, sleep flat, what do you put on your sandwiches? Ask your doctor to do a Heidelberg test? You can write me and we'll try to figure it, but if you are telling the truth(that does not mean you are lying but you, yourself might see things differently then they really are) but I will put my money on air in take or food allergy. God Bless You and the Southern People.

You can't stop yourself from swallowing air. It's something that happens to all humans (as well as many animals) unconsciously. What you might be working on is the early stages of GERD.

Fibre causes gas. Also burping appears to be habit forming.

Maybe the way you eat [ not what you eat ] has affected your air intake.
