I have an anger issue and it is starting to get out of hand. Also my moods are kind of "down". I don't feel like doing much, almost like im depressed but that I know i'm not. I constantly have an attitude with everyone I come across and I am not likeing the respose. I want help but I am not sure what kind of Doctor I should see?

I would start with your regular physician and discuss your options. Important things to know going in this is that a psychologist is a PhD (non-medical doctor) and a psychiatrist is an MD. A counselor or therapist is different again and this type of license requires less education so there can be alot of difference between them.

As with any health care provider, it is important to pick someone you are comfortable with. None of the above will be of any benefit if you are not willing to go in with an open mind. Depression and other mood disorders can look (and feel) many different ways. It isn't always severe either. It can be situational (something in your life triggered it) not a permanent state.

Ask yourself several questions:
How long have you been feeling the way you describe above?
What was occurring in your life at the time you first noticed these feelings? Did anything change?
Even little stressors can add up to feel very big.

But most importantly don't put this off. The way you feel can affect so many things (your job, relationships, friendships etc). You have already taken the first step, asking for help, now it's up to you to keep going. Good luck!

Psychologist - he may work with a Psychiatrist to get you on anti-depressants if necessary - anger is a symptom of depression - you should contact one asap, as the medication takes a few weeks to kick in.

You may need some medication. A therapist, or psychiatrist can help. Maybe all you need is a good bartender... a few cold drinks and an empathetic ear! ;-) Try the first 2 suggestions first. LOL

Best of luck to you!

Or Break out of your everyday routine. Do somethings that make you happy like taking a walk. Pet a Kitty. Go Swimming. Go to a movie. Otherwise there just going to medicate you. But maybe you've tried all those and you need special help. Do something to make yourself better and happier...

good luck...
