Pretty much all GM cars are identical. They essentially use the same parts and chassis.

Pontiac are the ugliest cars on the road, in my opinion. GM engines and transmissions are pretty good though. They're the best domestic in that regard.

Don't get a FORD.... they're the crappiest cars ever. Every FORD we've owned had engine and transmission problems from 20,000 miles and on.... they are the WORST cars on the road today. At least Hyundai, Kia and GM come with 100k mile warranty.

My suggestion is get a Honda CR-V. It is cheap ($20K), reliable and thrifty on the gas. And it was recently redesigned and improved. It has won several awards as one of the best mini SUVs around.

first off: Saturns are NOT a Chrysler product, they are GM. You probably already knew that, but apparently at least one person here does. I stopped reading after that because I wouldn't believe anything else they say.

The only vehicle on that list that is remotely different is the Vibe. It's essentially a Toyota Matrix, and I believe it even has a Toyota motor. Out of those cars, it is your best choice.

1 and 5 are about the same size, but I'd pick the Grand Prix...better style

2 and 4 are the same, I'd get the the Saturn out of those two.

Well depends on your cash and your style... first if you like style and got cash you should go with the new Lexus IS250, Honda Accord or Mazda RX-8, If you like speed... I'd advise you to go with older car since all the new cars don't have that much parts for tunning. Get something like my fave. Toyota Supra 98, Mazda RX-7 or any of the Mitsubhi Lancers from 7 to 9.

Unfortunately none of them are really good cars. Of the list, I would probably go for the Saturn Sedan. It will be the cheapest to get fixed, and all of these cars will need to be fixed a lot.

If you HAVE to buy American, look into Fords.

If you HAVE to buy GM, look into Saabs (yep, owned by GM)

If you want a good car in that price range, look at Toyota Corollas and Honda Civics.

1 ; impala / low horse power , poor manuvarability, poor gas milage , expensive on repairs.
2 ; saturn sedan / chrysler product , poor quality workmanship, and milage not as stated., very expensive to repair, high insurance.
3 ; pontiac ; a general motors product ; sedan is fair, grand prix is considered a sports car for insurance {expensive}, vibe ; small and not much space , do not get in accident, but overall with gas prices your best economical deal.

all the cars you have are unreliable except the VIBE which is made by TOYOTA. Toyota rank the number one for reliable for years.they are so reliable, most manufacture start using Toyota parts in their vehicles such as
Dodge,GM,BMW,MERCEDES,Ford,Landrover.Toyota is easy to work which cut down in labor cost for consumers.others manufacture ,you will have to pay double or triple.when you buy a new Toyota, they have the best warranty compares to other manufactures.low warranty indicate it a cheap made vehicles and they don"t care about customers.if they do,they would built quality car with better warranty.

How much are you looking to spend? Are you paying cash of finance? Are you buying new or used? How long do you plan to keep the car? You're set on GM cars? Is gas mileage a factor?
I'd answer the questions above before I start making a list.

Go for the Vibe or a light weight Japanese of European car.
Remember: fuel prices will go up further.
BTW, in the Netherlands we have to pay approx. $1.60 per liter petrol, or about $6 per gallon. Has been approx. $6.75 per gallon.

Only one stands out for me, the RX-8. Seriously fast and fun to drive along with historically good resale value not to mention they look hot. The Eclipse would be my second choice BTW.

Nice cars, but try Honda or Toyota. In the long run they should out last GM cars.
