Everyone gives in to temptation as it is human nature. Just because I am a Christian does not mean I am not also human. I am not given special dispensation against sinning. However I do ask God to forgive me when I sin and I try not to recreate the same sin again. In that way I think I do lead by example. After all it is the best that I can do. Why else would have needed Grace if there was a way for a human to physical and mentally be perfect and flawless? If there was a way for us to accomplish that then there would have been no reason for Jesus' sacrifice.

"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13
Even with God always providing a way of escape from our temptations we still mess up, don't we?

Just because we have seen Jesus as our Lord and Savior and He has forgiven us our sins and is making us a new creation doesn't mean that we have instantly become heavenly robots.
We still have our free will and like little children we seek to serve our own selfish desires at times. We stumble, we fall and we suffer consequences.
Rest assured however, that God, who has begun a good work in us is faithful to complete this work even if it means that He will allow us to stumble, that we might learn from our mistakes and be humbled and seek His face more, softening our hearts that He might shape us and mold us into all He intended since the beginning of the beginning.

Yes, we are to lead by example, and to flee from sin at every chance. But even so, no one is perfect... not yet. Like Paul, we too are kept short of being prideful about perfections by our own individual thorns in our side. It's what keeps us humble.

Actually, thats a good question, Rose.
Christians have the flesh on them too. A true Christian still makes mistakes we are just suppossed to confess and repent
The only one that was ever sin-free was Jesus Christ.

We all have free will. Us, Christians, are supposed to lead an example, but we are humans. I don't agree with those of us who act like the are perfect. I personally, do my best to glorify God and obey his commands, but when I do stumble(which I do)...I repent to Jesus and try not to again. I hope I answered your question.

Nobody is perfect, and nobody can lead a completly sin-free life.
'We' try our best to lead by example, but do give in to sin, regretably. But we repent, be it publically or personally, and that's also where we lead by example.
Rather you're a Christian or not, I believe it doesn't matter what you've done, but what you do now--what you've done in response to your consequenses.
Peace.

Yes, it's true that we're not supposed to sin, however, we're only human, therefore, we have our weaknesses & weak moments, which Satan uses against us. So, we'll sin, at least occasionally. We're to endeavor not to sin & if we do sin, then we are to repent (i.e. literally, turn from) of our sins, ask for & receive forgiveness from OUR LORD, then endeavor to "Go & sin no more!" If we truly repent, we are then free of the ultimate consequences of sin (death & separation from GOD, who can never allow sin in HIS PRESENCE [witness how JESUS felt totally forsaken while on the Cross!])

Temptation sometimes is too great and we are too weak. Christian teaching says that we are all sinners, that we can't overcome sin, but we reflect the grace and goodness of God when we forgive others for being sinners just like us.

They live in a perfect fantasy world. Sin all you want, tell the priest you are sorry, then all your sins are forgiven and you can live eternity in heavenly paradise.
Sure wish I was weak minded enough to believe. . .
