Looks like "ricnnl" has provided you with your recipe... just thought
I'd throw this in for your Thanksgiving dinner:
"Green Beans with Smoked Bacon and Onions" - 8 servings
2 pounds green beans; trimmed
2 1/4 teaspoons salt
4 slices thick-cut smoked bacon; cut into 1"-wide strips
1 medium onion; cut into 1" pieces
1) Blanch the beans: Prepare an ice bath. Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil. Add the beans and 2 teaspoons salt, and cook just until the beans turn bright green - about 7 minutes. Drain the beans and plunge them into the ice bath until they're cool. Remove beans from the bath, and drain on a towel.
2) Cook the bacon: Add the bacon to a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook until golden brown and lightly crisp. Drain all but 2 tablespoons of the bacon fat.
3) Finish the beans: Add the blanched beans, onion pieces, and remaining salt and toss to completely coat with the fat. Reduce heat to medium, and cook until the beans are warmed through and the onions have softened, 4-5 minutes. Serve immediately.

From what I remember you use Julienne cut beans, put them in a very small amount of stock, and add almonds as you stir fry for about two to three minutes. Do not over cook the green beans

My favorite is to use whole green beans. Stir fry using sesame oil. When they are just ready to serve, sprinkle about one teaspoon of sugar and a couple of tablespoons of sesame seeds stir until brown and serve.
If you do not have fresh beans, you can use the frozen type, just cook a little longer.
