Try using light to medium ash brown. The ash will counteract the red/orange tones. If your hair has too much red/orange tones It will still look good but slightly warm. hope that helps

Very dark hair goes through progressions, from shade to shade as it bleaches. If you want no red at all, you have to use a multiple process that is best done in a salon to minimize damage. If you just want to cover what you now have and get a shade of brown, stylists suggest going with a shade lighter than you intend (looking at the shade chart on the box) as store-bought dyes tend to run a little darker than salon colors.

Good luck - that red is hard to lose, I know - I've been bleaching a dark red to platinum/ash for about 20 years now.

You first should use one of those little bottles that get golden and red tones out of the hair first, before dying it. They sell them at any beauty salon store. Just let them know you bleached ur hair and you need that, they will know exactly what it is, you mix it with your shampoo and get rid of the tones. Afterwards then dye your hair.

This will help to achieve the color you want with little golden/red tones as possible. Hopefully this helps.
