Gas is usually related to foods and those can include starches, fats and oils, dairy products, cabbage family members and beans. Burping is usually related to the ingestion of air as he is eating...i.e. if you drink a soda quickly, you will burp...in this case the escaping gas from the soda causes the burps. For burpings, he needs to chew and eat more slowly. For the gas, he can modify the diet, by eliminating some of the items i mention...one at a time....and if there is no improvement, then add that item back to the diet and eliminate a different one. Another possible answer is by the use of an OTC drug called Gas-X which reduces gas dramatically. It is not genetic in a sense, but some people tend to be excretors or that their bodies produce gas when they eat cabbage, brocoli, cauliflower, etc.

It is either the food that he is eating or he is drinking too many carbonated beverages during the day. He could also have a very small case of lactose intolerance. That would cause excess gas as well. He could try an over the counter gas eliminating medication and see if that helps. If if doesn't then tell him to try taking lactaid before he eats any dairy products.

Tell him to take Beano with meals, or try a good digestive enzyme product with meals. Simethicone (Mylicon or Gas-X) are also helpful, but excessive gas is usually a sign of poor or incomplete digestion.

It has to be something he's eating or drinking. He could try to modify his diet to eliminate any likely culprits, like beans, broccoli, or carbonated drinks. He should also get tested for lactose intolerance, since such people tend to have gas problems when they eat cheese and other dairy products.

You should of watched oprah a few days ago, she was talking about that, she had a doctor (not dr. phil) on her show.Saying it's too many bad bacterias in the body which produce the gas, also by feeding the bacterias, IE sugars... makes it worse.
