Immigration and terrorism are separate issues, even amongst those who support closing the borders and shooting up places. I haven't heard from them that they also accuse illegal immigrants of being terrorists...

However, anti-foreigner sentiments are connected amongst these very same people: chauvinist, ultra-patriotic, America-firster, xenophobic, unsophisticates. These kinds of people naturally would support a wide variety of causes that are against anything "foreign" at all - immigrant prevention, anti-terrorist schemes, ignoring treaties with other nations, ditching the UN, French Fries renaming, and the like.

You are right in identifying part of he problem "read the media".

The liberal media wants to widen the gulf between the upper class elitists and everyone else. For this reason, they spew false information and propaganda on this issue. The USA is not turning into a fascist, xenophobic, place! In fact, these very same liberals are the driving force behind the socialist movement in our great land!

You are very incorrect in your assessment that the beginning of "hatred" started on 9-11. why do you think that the original, illegal, amnesty was in the 80's? Because this has been a HUGE problem for years!

RACISM is the last big weapon that the liberals throw at the majority of our society (read Caucasian) when they run out of other arguments.
It is a weak attempt to cow the opponent with a last ditch and utterly merit-less effort!
Illegal alien is neither a race, nor an ethnicity unto itself, therefor, by definition, one cannot be a racist solely on ones stance against illegal actions of another! September 11 did open the eyes, in a big way, to the bigger problem of illegal aliens and brought to light the danger to our country, on many levels, that illegals represent.
represent is incorrect they do not represent problems, as that implies that the problem is something else entirely.
THEY ARE THE PROBLEM!
Illegals are criminals! It is not open for debate or dispute!
and anyone who is pro illegal immigration is pro crime and is therefore, at least passively, an accomplice

Um, did you know that Mexico's been deliberately ignoring our immigration laws for something like the last 40 years? Now that there's actually something being done about that, you say it's racism...I don't understand. We've got citizens from all over the world, but because voters are finally taking issue with decades of negligence, you're ready to accuse people of hate etc. I guess you don't really read much, which isn't surprising, but the unpatrolled border is fueling a huge crime wave IN Mexico.

It's kind of sad, when the school system doesn't give kids the informational wherewithal to make an effective evaluation of what's going on in the world anymore, good show for the states, citizens, INCLUDING american hispanics, who are showing that they did, in fact, pass a US history class, somewhere along the road.

I just read a news story a week ago, says that college kids know barely more about history when they leave college than when they go in.. Kind of scary when our institutions of higher learning become havens of ignorance, and worse...and, let's not forget the liberal teary-eyed revisionists/apologists who are all but willing to sign deed and title of the country over to the first teary-eyed sob-story wielder.

There's a time and place for sympathy, and empathy, and there's a time and place for reasoned critical thinking and clearheaded decisionmaking. I don't know where you stand, I assume it's in the 'giveitaway, now' section, but I strongly feel that a lot of work went into building the country to begin with, and that letting 1/2 of Mexico move in no questions asked and free of charge WITH whatever benefits they seem to feel entitled to THIS week to be kind of an unacceptable circumstance, hence my support for the US/Mexico border fence. I also support employer enforcement,
and city/state measures that will serve to quell the rising tide of illegal immigration. LEGAL immigration ONLY, that's how the country was formed, let's NOT invite a billion people over for dinner, ok? LOL

Here's an extract from that story:
------------------------------
The Intercollegiate Studies Institute recently conducted a national survey to find what colleges and universities are teaching students about American history. The report, published Sept. 26, is titled "The Coming Crisis in Citizenship: Higher Education's Failure to Teach America's History and Institutions" -- an unfortunate and alarmingly accurate name. ISI randomly selected more than 14,000 freshmen and seniors from 50 colleges to take a 60-question civic literacy survey which covered four subjects: 1) American history; 2) government; 3) American and the world; and 4) market economy. The results speak for themselves -- a crisis, indeed....(From Washington Times)

There are many issues here. Mexicans Will never be in the same position as the Jews in Germany because Americans are not Nazis. I do not see 12 million Canadians running across the border, so there is no need for the wall on the North side.
We do not need any walls, just a sensible immigration policy and as long as the current government is making it the election year issue, it will never happen.
Looks like, at least for now, the illegal immigrants are without options - US doesn't want them and Mexico doesn't want them either.

NO connection at all. NO racism at all. IT is about our laws and our borders. Illegal aliens are trashing our country. It is time for it to be STOPPED and all illegal aliens and their children DEPORTED.

Our standard of living is going down, our prices are going up... both due mainly to the illegal alien invasion and the burden they place upon our infrastructure.

FACE IT...... all ILLEGAL ALIENS are CRIMINALS..... how can anyone possibly call them anything else..... it is impossible to call them by another name and still tell the truth, since it is their status that is the issue.... along with the utter destruction they are wreaking upon our society and our country.

So you think the Mexicans are bearing the brunt of the post 9-11-01 crime committed by the ignorant Muslim terrorists? NOT so, everyone who flies on commercial airlines is being subjected to punishment for what the filthy muslim terrorists did.....

And all English speaking people of the USA are bearing the brunt of the insanity caused by the criminal illegal alien invasion... taxes, insurance costs, disease, wage deterioration, cities being trashed, CRIME increase, paying for illegal aliens who are properly put in prison.....

and the biggest insult of all, "press 1 for English" what hog wash...

but that is what a socialist society does.... punishes all for the crimes of the few... etc....

we all lose, we all pay, the criminal illegal aliens are INVADERS and are STEALING our future....

We can indeed worry about a Spanish speaking society.... there is not a Spanish speaking country in the world even close to the English speaking countries in technology and success..... English is the language of success, of electronics: thus computers, of business.... Spanish is a cloudy and cumbersome language. But that is secondary to the destruction being caused by all illegal aliens and their children in the USA..... and we have the corrupt members of Congress to blame, those who want the criminal illegal aliens here.... along with the corrupt filthy government of Mexico.... and then there is the matter of the treasonous employers who hire the criminal illegal aliens... what a basket of mud.

Racist symbols??? you have to look no further than La Raza.... a corrupt criminal organization of filth.... they put out anti-white and anti-USA posters and should be outlawed and their leaders imprisoned for life....

NO - What happened was that the Illegal Immigration rallies sparked anger in many Americans because we could not believe they would have the audasicity to rally when they entered this country 'illegally'. This country has always supported those who enter legally but we hate those who throw the law in our face and enter without any right to enter the country. Why should a hispanic be allowed to enter illegally and take advantage of our welfare and social systems just because they can walk across a border as opposed to someone who has to file papers and follow law to enter the country from say Russia? All of those who entered our country illegally should be expelled from the country along with the children they had in this country. If you entered illegally, your children you had in this country should be illegal also. If you are illegal, you are not paying taxes and I doubt you paid your medical bills to have your child in this country.

Actually it's not hatred. There aren't tons of people comming across the Canadian border illegally. Bringing that up shows *your* ignorance. Take a look at the facts and stop being so defensive.

What is wrong with Mexico? Why are people in such a hurry to leave there to get jobs here? Why don't they make any effort to fix their own country?

No you are mistaken. Here in my state of Arizona ,illegal immigration has ALWAYS been a problem from our southern border. And we /I don't hate the illegals at all,I just don't want anyone coming to this country illegally and then demanding rights they don't have the right to demand because they are ILLEGAL.Its not a race issue its a legality issue.Do you think Americans like seeing illegals and their Marxists supporters marching in our streets, demanding, and desecrating our nations flag.
The currant out rage of the legal American are about the supporters of illegals that make statements like the ones below.Read them and ask yourself just where is the real hate coming from.

We have an aging white America ... They are dying ...We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him." Jose Angel Gutierrez, professor, University of Texas, Arlington and founder of the La Raza Unida political party

If anyone's going to be deported, it's going to be you! ... Get out! We are the future. You're old and tired. Go on. We have beaten you – leave like beaten rats. You old white people, it is your duty to die. Right now, we're already controlling those elections, whether it's by violence or nonviolence. Through love of having children we're going to take over." Augustin Cebada, information minister of Brown Berets, militant para-military soldiers of Aztlan shouting at U.S. citizens at an Independence Day rally in Los Angeles.

Now thats where the true racism is,where the real hate is.......

Our borders should have been closed within hours of 9-11. I haven't seen anyone from Canada take down our flag or march in our streets & demand rights. This is our country, if we don't want you here & you won't leave what are our options? If amnesty passes I hope & pray for civil war.....

Calling us racist just proves you have no viable argument or you would use it instead of resorting to name calling!
