Yes, it is "Israel" is rooted in the Holy Bible, Genesis 32:28, where Jacob is renamed Israel after successfully wrestling with an Angel. The biblical nation fathered by Jacob was then called "The Children of Israel" or the "Israelites.". It is actually wrong to say Israel was formed in 1948 . 2 tribes only came to form a political Israel, wait till the other 10 tribes come back home , and you will see Israel . Do you know who are the other 10 tribes and where there are ?

After world war II the British but the Jew's into Palestine because it was a British colony. The Jews have taken over Palestine and call it there own. Most people of Palestine are prisoners in their own country. If they leave their country they must return within 2 weeks or they cannot come back. Many people cannot even get into Palestine to see their family. I wish there could be some peace, but Israel should make the sacrifices, not the people of Palestine.

Yes, Israel is a state. As a Jew, I believe in the right for jewish persons to live there, however, I do NOT agree with Israel forming a government, as it directly goes against Jewish law to form a government for Israel before the Messiah comes. I want everyone to please understand that most orthodox Jews do NOT support Israel right now. They have no right to come in and take over land just because they think it's theirs. It's the spoiled American attitude that we can go in and take over anything we want. Jews from other countries don't care about having an israeli goverment or occupying certain lands, they just want to live there, and live peacefully with their neighbors. It's the f***ed up Israeli leaders that are ruining the whole thing.

Of course, if I consider my self a good law-keeping citizen of the world, so yes I do!
Does anyone dares to question Iran or North Korea, that threat the whole world? or did anyone ever asked themselves why there isn't such a thing as "Palestine"?
its' because time and time again, Israel tried to make peace with the Palestinians, and because of there terror organizations that keep braking the agreements and murder Innocent Israelis - poor Palestinians will never have a state! but again - they bring this on themselves....

Of course.
It had been recognized as an independent country by the UN, a thing that you cannot say about Palestine; this should be enough to end this discussion.

Anyway, Israel is much more democratic, liberal, righteous and social than loads of other countries in the Middle East and in the world, generally.

No it is illegally occupying the Palestinian lands, as for why they cannot have a small part, they have the majority. And in this case, why do we not give a small part of our country to them instead? If they came into your country and kicked out the rightful owners and set up their own households would you be OK with that? Why doesn't the USA give some of Texas to Mexico then and that might solve the immigration problem? Or if some church wanted to come into our land and set up their own state cause they are all of the same religion is that OK? They think that they have some kind of right to this land but they are not even the original inhabitant, originally it belonged to the Canaanites and was under Egyptian rule. The Canaanites have been traced through DNA to the present day Lebanese. And most of the present day occupants of Israel do not come from this geographic region at all but are simply Jews who want to live in a Jewish state.

Yes, they won the land several times in several different wars.

That being said, Israel is responsible to find a way to get along with their neighbors. They are the new kids on the block.
