Nemex is an otc worming med. If what you saw is around 4 inches long, then it is round worm. Hook worm is so small that you would not have seen anything. Tapeworm lays egg sacks that are about 2 inches long and shrink to the size of a grain of rice after hitting the air.
Read the bottle again. If Nemex treats round and hook, then wait 2 weeks to take a stool sample to the vet. You need to make sure that you got them all. If what you saw was tape, then the Nemex will not kill them. Praziquantel, which is an otc from the pet store, will kill tape.

yea the medicine will kill off the worms and detach them from your puppies intestinal lining. In live worms they would stay attached here and absorb the nutrients from your puppy. It is normal for them to start falling out like that, but make sure you take a sample of the stool to the vet and preferably get a worm in there so they can identify it. Most likely it is a roundworm or a tapeworm. Be sure to wash your dogs rear end with baby wipes and wash everything his little behind comes in contact with so you don't contract the worms as well. Goodluck!

Please do not even think of treating a 6 week old puppy with anything over the counter! There's horror stories in this section from it. The bottom line is that whoever gave you that puppy has no clue about puppy health, because your little one is way too young to be separated from her sibs and mama. So she needs a vet check asap, like Tuesday. Puppies this young can go from healthy to very sick in a matter of hours, and a vet can quickly tell her overall health and prevent most scary stuff from happening. The worms won't hurt her for a couple days, but please make this a high priority. It won't be that expensive but could save hundreds over the next few months if you don't do it.

dogs have a variety of worms. Especially puppies. Rather take him to the vet, they have the medication that gets rid of them all. Never heard of Nemex 2 here where I live, but it may only be for that type of worm. As long as the worms are coming out, then that is good and yes it is cleaning him out. Nice to hear you taking care of your pup.

The medication did it's job in getting rid of the worms.
Be sure to wrap up the stool for the sample for the vets so they can ID the worm that he has or had.
But the puppy will be passing more dead worms out of his system in the next few days, so don't be too alarmed when you see more worms.

It is best to take him to the vet, especially if you haven't brought him in for vaccinations/checkup yet.
All puppies need to be "de-wormed" because they are normally just born with them.
I am not familiar with the med. your puppy got, but if he had a serious case of worms, you can see them in the feces. If the worms are dead, the medicine worked--they are being passed instead of clinging inside the dog.
But it is still best to make a vet appointment and bring a poop sample in, along with the worms so proper identification can be done.

Yes, the medicine is bringing the worms out...they have to come out of their stool because the worms are infested in their stomach.

It can well be the deworming medication, which had killed the worms and detached them from his intestinal lining. In any case, taking him to the vet just to ensure nothing else is wrong with him is a good stance. :)

Sounds like the med has done its job and now, what is left is comming out. Remember to take a stool sample to the vet when you go.

that medicine might have killed some of the worms and that's the reason you are seeing them in his poop now.

I'm glad you are taking him to the vet though because tapeworms can take away his nutrients.
