Yes, met a Canadian 2000 miles away. Talked for a long time online and on the phone. He visited me first; and we just toured New Orleans. Then a year later I visited him in B.C. He was a great guy and I would have continued, but long distance relationships don't work well. All in all, I had a wonderful time and will remember him all of my life.
Also met some locals: meet in a public place and be extra careful. Get their license number and let someone trusted know where you are going to meet him. My experience with this was about 50% good. Just be careful and have fun. Godloveya.

Yes. Once I travelled about 1,000 miles on a greyhound bus. Never take the bus. It was pretty cool. They were ONLY people I'd known for years, though. I had an online friend for six years who I finally met in person a couple years ago, and we're pretty much best friends right now. The other was someone I was dating, and that fell through after about a year, but we still talk on and off. It was nice to meet them. But again, I'd only headed out there after I'd known these people online for YEARS and we had trust and rapport going. Don't just up and meet somebody you've only known for a couple months or something. You have to be very careful with online contacts.

Yes i have but in a safe situation never ever go alone and never ever give out private details ...meeting someone in person for the first time you can make a judgement on their character however in saying that the first ppl i met from the net was when i was married and i have made some very close friends with couples that have kids however if you are meeting them for romance that can be a whole different kettle of fish so to speak it depends on your age and it also still stands of not giving to many details and certainly dont go alone for quite a while...in fact if you are very young i would say dont even do it with a friend

Yeah, my bf and I met through net.
My ex was too, and my other ex was too!
I think meeting someone online works fine with me.
I know I'm gorgeous, but I don't feel safe being chat up at a bar, I'd rather get to know the people through ads online!
I think I've met my love of my life now. He's totally gorgeous, and we are loving each other so much, having tons of fun!

Yes, I lived in Indiana and he stayed in Georgia. He finally came to see me and now we've been together for a year and a half and we're getting married next year. It was a wonderful experience. Try talking on the phone for a while before actually meeting.

I met my friend Jeff online, he's a nice guy...and we're friends...that's IT. I met all my mommy friends online as well. If you're talking about meeting a romance partner, then the answer is no, I'm already way into being married.

I only "met" someone that I already knew. I traveled from Illinois to Oregon to be with him twice, on vacations, and we realized that we could not live in the same state (He hates Illinois and I can't be there with him away from my hometown) and so we parted ways. He's still a good friend though.
