What the Pope is in reality is the figurehead of the Catholic church. As a studying Christian, I don't perceive him to be anything but the figurehead of the Catholic church. Did see that he named someone else a saint, though. Shouldn't saints be deemed saints by God, and not by a man? His doing so frees the Catholics to pray through this new saint, which was a person. And this is Biblical? I don't think so! The Bible says that you pray to the Father in the name of the Son, not in the name of a 'saint', and not in the name of Mary. So much for Catholicism. It goes directly against what Jesus taught! How can people be so easily deceived? At least the athiests have an excuse! They don't know any better. They're Godless! Catholics profess to be Christian!

I percieve that the pope is NOT the head of the church. Jesus Christ is the head of the church.

Ephesians 5:23 Christ is the head of his body, the church; he gave his life to be her Savior.

The Pope is just a man who wishes he was head of the church. Jesus is head of the church.

He is not the head of the Church. Jesus Chirst is the head of the Church. Naming a man as the head of the church is idolotry and emulates a cult.

I'm not saying that Catholisism is a cult, I'm just saying that the Pope is not the head of the Church.

Religious totalitarianism at it's greatest. A man who is claimed to be near God looking down upon the peons who he deems as not worthy unless they submit. He who speaks and people follow for the blind will lead the blind into a promised salvation paved with bodies, running alongside a river of blood.

I wish that he was more tolerant and progressive...we really need a pope who conveys peace and love and wants to help all the poor people in the world, not one who makes imflammatory statements and keeps his head buried in the vatican books
