It is an excellent highway cruiser and the gas mileage 18-25 MPG is great for the size and comfortable driving experience. The only drawback is some parking spots are just too small for the size of the car but it is an acceptable trade off.

I've owned the Ford Crown Victoria (Anniversary Edition) for 5 years and it has been a terrific car. I did not purchase it for fuel efficiency, but for the room and luxury. Please, don't be fooled by everyone telling you it's a bad car--most cars are made on the same lines as others--I know this from working in the car manufacturing business--for example
Toyota = Lexus--just change the emblem
Ford F150 = Lincoln Navigator--just change the emblem
Look closely at cars--minus all the ornaments--you will see how similar they really are. This list goes on and on...it's amazing what people are willing to pay for the name. Many car companies will pay others to produce the bases and bodies for them to save money. Also, do not be fooled by the MPG rating on a car--there are no laws regulating this on domestic or foreign cars, which means much of what you are seeing on the sticker is a crock in some instances. See this article for further research.

Whoever you heard this from is full of s***!!! They are actually great cars. They are actually BETTER on gas than even A LOT of V6 cars!!! The only reason there aren't more of them on the roads is because most people are intimidated by the vehicle's size.
Out of all cars that ford has manufactured lately, the CROWN VICTORIA is by far the most reliable car ever.

Very reliable, and get better fuel mileage than the Taurus. You are looking at 24-30 mpg with the Crown Vic V8. That is great mileage.

If you like to spend money on gas, then yes. If fuel economy is your concern, get a smaller 4-cylinder.
If you need the interior space and the power opt for a V6 that's better on gas
