No christians quoting the bible or cursing. I want to hear real thoughts on the subject.

Is the age of christianity over? The christians have lost a lot of their power now. They can't go on crusades anymore, unless they wan't to start some big war. About 2/3 of the world don't believe in christianity, or something like that. So what are your thoughts on this?

It's over in the UK and most of western Europe where numbers are rapidly diminishing-the US is still polluted with it but I hope that it diminishes there as well in the near future. It's for the best-humanity doesn't need it.

Every major religion except Islam is declining in Western Europe, according to the Center for the Study on Global Christianity at the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass. The drop is most evident in France, Sweden and the Netherlands, where church attendance is less than 10% in some areas.

Christ stated "my (church) is IN this world, but it is not OF this world".

He also said "render unto God, that which is God's, render unto Caesar what is Caesar's" (talking about taxes).

Also, He directed that Christians are to obey all the laws of the nations in which they live.

Does this sound like the Catholic Church of the Middle Ages? I'm guessing it doesn't. Yes, political power among Christians has waned, but thankfully the ideals of Christ have remained influential, and as a social force, it is still strong, though it's weakened in the secular world.

I think as time moves on and the world becomes more alienated from God, times will become harder for Christians. True Christians know this and expect it. Just because some stats say the majority don't believe, that doesn't affect my decision. Christ was in the minority. Many are called but few are chosen for many will look back with longing and not want to endure what is ahead.

I believe that the world is moving away from christianity and I believe that this is predicted in the bible. Christianity does not promote a doctrine where it conqours the world... or even the hearts of most men. It teaches the eventual fall of mans atttempts to govern or rule himself. As we as a world society move further away from God, we are actually marching direcdtly into his judgement.

I am a christian...

I believe it is comming to an end, because people don't want their lives ran by God, and people don't hold true the morals, and beliefs of Christianity but claim to be christians, for instance Sentor Foley. So i think people say "thats christinaity" rather than giving it a chance and actually looking at the historical arguments. Also, i wouldn't be suprised if America started banning christianity, because people are soo bitter about it..."take it out of the pledge" take it out of the consitution, take it out of the court rooms, or whatever the case may be, Funny how people say thats against their beliefs, and for keeping in their, thats not right...well take it out isn't right either because it my beliefs, and its my freedom to believe in that, not yours to take away. But people don't see it that way.

Honestly, i think the end times as explained in revelations is comming here, the persuccution against christinity is rising, and its only time before it because violent in America.

However, with that being said, i think it is over, because more and more Christians, are in hiding, rather than standing up for their beliefs, because of the persucution, and ridcule we get, not to mention its "polically incorrect", and now-adays they can sue for that. So christians would rather remain silent, then to speak up and get in to the faces of those who mock us, and ridcule us. Thus why i believe that America will be one of those countries were chrisinity isn't allowed.

today's headline...

more homes in US are now non family or "married"

like always, they need a major event to put people back into fear and obedience of the myth of god

wait for the next callamity and then we will all fall back into "united we stand" and rally against tomorow's foe

previously it was the muslim, then it was the American Native of the Indies, then South and N. America, then it was the Mormons, slaves who were predominantly Afro-origin were abused and harmed, then it was the athiest, then it was the fascist and then the communist now it's the terrorist and the liberal combined with thier new phrase islamofascist (sounds so ignorant)

the idea of the opposing people and need for constant perpetual wars is what keeps it going

christianity does not represent peace it teaches "fight the good fight" against all unbelievers and it's other created god, set-an

I really hope the Age of Aquarius is ushered in and the age of the Fish goes bye-bye

it ruined my family, too

Unfortunately, the two most virulent forms of religion, Islam and Christianity, show no sign of decline except in a few places like western Europe, the UK, Canada, and Australia. In most of the rest of the world, religious viruses are rampaging unrestrained (including in the US).

The age of reason is over and is being replaced by the age of faith.

It's hard to say, history has a way of going in cycles.

I'm seeing a lot of answers about western Europe, and it's intersting to me, because I spent 6 months in Portugal, and they are very religious there (Christian), I guess that country is a bit of an anomaly.

best wishes

A serious answer with no quotes...

This is biblical...we are in the last days and we were warned of this...we are in the Laeodician age...1800's and early 1900's was the age of brotherly love

This is the age where people are lovers of there ownselves,
denying the faith, with no compassion
