Stone Mountian is a cool place. For those that don't know it's a State Park in Georgia. Stone Mountian has the largest outcropping of Granite Stone in the World.
There is a Very Large monument carving in the stone face. First you can check that out... there is a vistor centor there that will give you all the history about the place. You can take a tram to the top of the mountian.... or if you better prefer (and I recomend it) you can hike to the top. Either way, it's an incredible view from the top... you can see for miles and miles.
There is some great hiking, camping, and bike trails there. Altanta is close by if you want to do some down town stuff, people ave very freindly. It's safe to use the tram and other public transportation. In Anlanta... definantely check out the "Down Under", Pepsi and CNN World headquarters.

Stone Mountain Park - you have to climb the rock! There are some nice shops and restaurants in the Stone Mountain Village.
