Yes its possible...but think about this...how would you feel if your wife was on here asking the same question about potentially having an affair? (I'm not judging, just asking).
Remember though, people online are not always honest and true, no matter how much it may seem they are. The person you think you are falling for may not be like that at all.
Just be careful, these things tend to cause alot of damage...

Well if you're married and thinking that you would have an affair then maybe you should be having a good look at your marriage before you go off sleeping with others. You are playing with people's feelings here!!

Yeah its possible and its stupid. Many times just because you get along with someone online doesnt mean youll get along with them in person. And seeing that risk....you also run a huge risk of getting caught and ruining what you have at home. Unless maybe you hate what you have at home..I dont know. Either way its still not a best decision...if your marraiges are both long past dead and you know you cant fix it...then get out of it first before meeting up.. Otherwise you might end up losing everything.

Sure, but most likely the image we have of the person is not a completed one; it is an idealized skewed version that only sees a fraction of an individual. Real time together can change that very quickly no?

Yes,,,that is definitely possible altho I don't think it is a good idea to have an affair even tho I know it would be fun having sex with someone you think is exciting to be with.
