She'll most likely stay the same, as in her personality won't change (she won't suddenly come at you with a chainsaw). She will probably be a little calmer and less active so you should watch her weight but what you're doing is very responsible and shows that you care about your pet. I wish more people would spay/neuter their pets. Recovery is almost instant- in that she might be a little woozy for a day at the most after the op and the stitches would need to be removed between 7 to 10 days after but other than that she will be just fine.

She is not in pain. Cats in heat are simply very vocal. You should get her spayed, though, since there are already plenty of unwanted kittens in the world, and it would only take her escaping once to get pregnant. A cat is never too old to be spayed.

She'll be ok, I had my cat spayed at about the same age. She just needed the rest of the day to recover and the next day she was back to her fiesty little self :)

Good job on getting your kitty spayed so you dont have to worry about bothersome heat cycles and unwanted kittens!!
Takes generally a few days for them to start feeling up to par - so if she lays around more and isn't too much into playing - don't be suprised. She will be the same, though later on you might have to keep a better eye on her weight. She will be alright!

Animals are great at doing only as much as they are comfortable with.
After she has recovered she will be still lively. Quite often within a day or so after surgery. It is usually maturity that calms them down. Yet I have a 4 year old cat who is very playful

This is a question for a vet. I have had every kitten i ever had spayed & neutered. My cats are great. They recovered quickly. I just brought them home and they took care of themselves. Except for the stiches. I took them to a great vet. Don't let just anyone work one you animal.

She'll be a bit disoriented for a couple of days from the anesthesia, but her personality will be back in no time. I just had my youngest done and I was concerned that he would lose his *****. But after just a few days he's back, wrestling with the dogs and terrorizing the other two kitties. :)

The vet should give you instructions on what to do. If he says to confine her and not give her food or water for a while do it. Recovery time will depend on the anesthesia used so follow the vet's instructions.
She will be her old self in hardly any time at all and be her old self.

She'll probably be sluggish for a day or two, but afterwards she may be much more affectionate and playful... maybe even to the point of being annoying lol.

Animals know when they're sore, I'm pretty sure she won't overdo it. However, I just had my 5 month puppy neutered and he was up running and walking like crazy. But it didn't seem to hurt him at all. He didn't whimper or whine or anything.
Just give her lovins.
