I agree. If you haven't done your research you're probably not ready to be a responsible pet owner. But since you already have the dog, make sure it at least has food, water, and is take out to use the bathroom often. In the meantime, read up as much about yorkies as possible and keep anything the dog can chew and choke on out of its reach. Give it some toys to play with and plenty of attention. Puppies take a lot of time, especially with house training, so make sure you have time for all of these things. If not, maybe now is not the best time for a dog for you. Pets are like babies. They can't take care of themselves and depend on us to be there for them, so make sure you take good care of your baby.

It's a good idea to try and research as much as you can about your new Yorkie. As around and see if others can help you get started. Pet stores sell books on all types of dogs, Im sure they have one abour Yorkies. If your still in touch with the puppy's previous owner, you can contact him/her and ask what food the puppy was on before you brought him home. Puppies have sensitive tummy's and if you change their food on them all the sudden they can get sick. Your going to have your hands full because puppies are ALOT of work. Trust me! I recently got a mini doxie! Good luck and Im sure you'll be just fine - just do some research and show the puppy you love it.

That's something you should have researched BEFORE you got the dog....Assuming hes over 6 weeks old then he needs some puppy food, that is if he is eating dry food if not get some milk supplement (powder) and mix it to soften up the food...He will probably need a crate toys... i would suggest you get him a litter box w/ pine shavings (or you can buy dog litter) to start house training..... and do some research on the breed see what kind of health problems they are prone too, also food allergies and they might even have training tips

Having dogs are wonderful things but my question to you is why would you get a pet before you ,know how to take care of him or her.
There are many books about how to take care of puppies and other animals. I would suggest that you look into getting one and fast.

i don't know.
maybe you can search online about what kind of food you can feed him. (my dog likes alpo :D)
and you can see if he's a house dog or is a dog that is difficult to house-break.
for now, just feed him and clean up after him.
get a collar for him with your phone number on the tag in case he runs away.....
