I think it is normal, especially if they are outside cats. My female cat is spayed and she still likes to stay gone wandering around for hours every day. She is mostly an indoor cat now, but was a wild stray before she adopted us. We let her go out when she wants and she comes home when she's ready or when we call her. I think it's just in her blood!

They won't wander as far as if they had not been neutered. If they are only a year or so old they will off to explore the world around their home. They are the equivalent to a human male teenager - totally fearless and eager to explore the outside world.

ever hear the phrase "curiosity killed the cat"? well, it goes for all cats. Not only are they curious, but they like to feel king of the realm so to speak. Wherever they hang out is their realm. They never seem to go very far, and it's part of what makes cats happy.

neutering will only help modify their behavior it does not stop it.it is their natural instinct to wander.you are going to have to train them or put up a fence/electrical fence.

You can't. It's their little hunter instinct and they are exploring and marking their territory. Neutering will not help much.
