How appropriate that you place this under Mental Health. Too funny!

Sometimes people are helped by someone else's experience, viewpoint or simply that they care. Sometimes I feel I have something meaningful to say and sometimes I make jokes. Did you hear the joke about someone who pretended to be asking a question when all he really wanted was to show off his lack of intelligence?

I try to answer most questions seriously, but if I think ur not asking a serious question, I'll make a joke. Some people ask some questions that I hope can't possibly be serious.

I try to answer questions seriously. I would like to think I helped or may be helping someone with the answer or advice I have given them. But I know many people make jokes, but I do ask questions to hopefully get serious answers that may help me in return.

I take Yahoo! Answers seriously because the fact that I've 'tried' to help someone makes me feel better about myself, and I hope my answers helps the other person also.

I have had some really good answers on this site. A lot of very caring people out there. You will always get the clever dick, who obviously wants to answer questions, but dont know the answers, so we have to tolerate them. It also depends on the questions, as lets face it there are some ridiculous questions out there, that are common sense to the majority of people. It works both ways. Enjoy the site, it is wonderful.

Im working on my Bachelors in Radiation and Minoring in Psychology, So I take all of the answers I provide VERY seriously. I often encourage people to seek PROFESSIONAL Help and NOT to listen to yahoo answers unless the person offering help has a PHd or a Doctorate of some sort.

Well, it depends on the question, really. If someone asks a goofy question (something like "I like to headbutt brick walls, do you???") then they probably want or deserve an equally goofy answer in return. Otherwise, I answer questions to the best of my knowledge and do it as honestly as I can. I also try to provide as much information (such as links to relevant Websites) and such.
It's never done to show off. I genuinely like helping others when I can. :)

A bit of both. I like to help out if I know something that others don't. It's also interesting for me to see what others don't know. Knowledge is power, right? I use this site mainly to get answers but I have to give answers to earn points.
B well.

It depends on how the question was worded or what catagory it was listed in...depends on the come back or answer. Some questions leave the door open for insults and smart @ss answers and some are definitely worth answering sincerely.
