I am afraid of being made fun of by my co workers for having medievil supersticious beliefs.

But the Bible says that you should not deny Gods name.

I am reminded of the famous passage from the Book of Derek:

"And the Romans cameth looking for the followers of Jesus, and Kevin of Tel Aviv, who was His disciple, said "I knoweth of no man named jesus, not around these parts anyhow. In Gallilee I kneweth of a Jessie, if that beith of any help."

And the Romans did not crucify kevin, although they kicked him in the shins and it hurt mightily.

God was angry, and he said unto Kevin "thou has denied my name. I cannot believe you can hurt me like this, after everything I have done for you guys, sending my son and whatnot. "

And God smote kevin on the head with a golf club. And then God smote kevin again with a polo mallet."

Now I dont want to be smitten. But I know God is sensitive about people playing down their connections with Him.

What should I do?

Well you have a real problem if you work in or near the Whitehouse. They probably won't crucify you but they'll call you "Goofy".

Now that in itself could be borne easily at least as easily as being smitten with a hockey stick, but the lawsuits from the Walt Disney conglomerate, now there would be pain.

You have my sympathy, perhaps you could get work in the Faith Based Charities office, I understand they have a vacancy for somebody who can keep mum when they have to.

OK funny guy, here is your answer (the serious one): religion is considered a private business nowadays. Your co-workers might feel embarrassed if you are too pushy about sharing your beliefs. Of course, if in an appropriate situation you happen to tell them what you have written above, this might be rather an ice-breaker between you, causing uncontrollable laughter. However your Christian co-workers will probably refuse to talk with you anymore because of the blasphemous kind of humour you delight in producing. And then possibly God might consider that the most appropriate and painful correction for you would be for you to BECOME a born-again Christian....
So no, I would suggest you shouldn't tell your co-workers you are a born-again Christian and the rest...

Look, i don't blame you. This guy jesus needs our respect. If my dad was the top dog and was all powerful and had me killed to prove a point so everyone else could 'get it' i would need a fan club too! (It's called murder- according to the 10 commandments).

Sometimes it is better to be a born again christian if you have got a big record deal or killed someone and need parole etc but you could cash in with an online internet church so maybe you could leave your job if you came out the cloister.

Seeith the Life of Brian for moreth on this ye pointe.

If the matter come up then tell then that you are a Christian. The Bible also says you shell be persecuted for your believe in God and that will and does happen from your friends and co-workers. I feel that you should not keep it a secret.

If you loved him that much you wouldn't be asking us.
Personally before you do I suggest you read the old testement and see then if you want to worship that god. I read some and vowed to never worship him again, what I found was shocking and evil. Just a little word of advice from an ex born again christian.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PROCLAIM IT LOUDLY MY DARLING!:o] If it comes up HEAVENS YEAH! You say it in context, "Yes I'm a born again Christian. I love God!" But to outwardly DENY HIM if it is brought up is what will get u in that "hot seat", you seem to have faith, respect the fact that you want God's glory & not man's. Pray for people who don't have that wisdom, they are the ones who should be embarassed, u have faith, & faith thru love, & THAT my dear is the only thing in life to accomplish. I baptized myself, by swearing I wouldn't sin anymore then immersed myself said "Father Son & Holy Ghost" ~ I've only told 2 people (& u 3!) when it came up. He knows where our faith is, but that same day I made the promise, I found a 4 leafed clover patch in my yard. Co-incidence ~ I don't think so, God doesn't play w/ dice! God bless, remember- all for God, not man:o]

no don't talk the talk.....just walk the walk,,,be happy, kind, help-full have the traits of the Holy Spirt, Keep your interstrength close to God...don't put your light under a basket..let it shine by walking the walk...examples speak louder than words....don't let any man browbeat you in to thinking you have to testify to people you meet,if God wants you to talk to some one about Him...He will provide the opportunity, and you will know the time is right. Then it will be wonderful...don't cast your pearls before the swine

Do the rest of the people in your office discuss their religious orientation? I ask this because they do not in mine.
The person at the desk next to me could for all I know, be a worshipper of the dark Lord himself! It would not bother me as they are his/her beliefs!

Maybe you could express your new found love of the lord by starting up a bible reading group and putting up a poster in your office. Im sure your employers would support you in this.

I would just share it with the people you regard as your clsoe friends, not that you should be ashamed of it, but because its just not something thats done

Absolutely NOT. Religion has no place in the workspace, unless one's work happens to be intrinsically religious in nature (working in a church, for a religious charity, etc). Even then, one should keep such things in the professional environment small and unobtrusive for one may have to do business with someone of a differing faith.

Kevin will understand.
