As a European I have be Turkey many times in fact spent two yearliving there. I would certainly recommend it. Beautiful place. The travel company you choose is very important As I recommend to everyone here loonto www.tourkey.org and try them they are great with offices in Turkey, Greece and the US. they normally only work with travel agents butif you send them an email web inquiries they work with you. They are wholesalers. People are very nice in Turkey. the beaches are awesome. History is amazing.Couldnt find much to dislike, but I would not try to drive there:)
I had to add sething cause I saw that officer Betty coul;d not stop rself from making a comment again. Every time there is Turkey question she has a diffent stroy about her trip to Turkey. this time she says the hote manager lifted up her shirt and the manager came to her room to proposition her. Give me a break. She claims to be staying at 5 star hotels, this would not happen. d if it was to happen I am sure there re people to complain to I do not believe it for a minute. n one of her comments she compared Tkey to Afghanistan. Look agaishe is the only one with anything negative to say. Another time she admitted a drunk night when she woke up with a tattoo. Well if you control your alcohol maybe you will cotrol others behaviors too. My wife has tled to Turkey alone many times and peoe were incredibly polite to her. Another thing I want to point out. I went th my wife to a few clubs in the US. And as he was going to the bathroom, she got groped and abused and hit on by many people./ This also happened in France. In Turkey when we went out nobo bothered us or even looked at us. Now if I chose to go to a bad eighborhood maybe it would happen in every country. Overall I would rank Turkish man as rrather polite to women. However I do agree that the salesman are annoyingly agressive. Just say No.

Turkey is really beautiful and interesting. I wouldn't say it is dangerous but I did have more then enough unwanted attention. I tried to make it clear I wasn't interested but often this would make the men angry. One older man at my resort in Kusidasi actually tried to lift my shirt up at the lobby lounge. That was scary. I also felt like I was getting ripped off a lot. I was living in the middle east when I went so I was used to bargining and being a blond in the Muslim world but I never was treated so rudely as in Turkey. They seemed very disrespectful to western women, not all of course, but certainly some who made me very uncomfortable. I have heard some women haven't had trouble so I don't know why I got it so bad. Even the hotel manager in my hotel in Istanbul tried to, well come up to my room. That was really scary. The only time I enjoyed myself was when I was with my friends that were in town and some Turkish friends (some guys who are sweet). Another thing I don't like about Turkey is how aggressive sales people are, even at restaurants. They try and get you to come in and if you don't they say things like, "why you no want to come in?" or "What you don't like me?" It is strange.
I will say that the sights in Turkey are worth seeing. Go to Tapakapa Palace which is done int he old Ottoman style and then go to Dolmeboche Palace which looks like Prince Charming would live there, It is an interesting comparison. Ephesis is also very worth seeing. My advice is go with a group or with a guy.

been to turkey lots of times beautiful country.the more popular holiday resorts i have to be honest you do get a lot of unwanted attention from the men.you just have to make it clear youre not interested.i hated the mosquitos get eaten alive every year and sometimes it,s too hot for me(and i adore the sun)but i,d go again in a minute.we now have a 7 yr old and the turks are fantastic with him he loves the atention he gets. you,ll love it.

I loved Turkey i went last year and found it really comfortable walking around at night really safe, there wasnt any leery men either that i saw but it might be different with two girls as i was with my boyfriend?
I didnt actually hate any of it actually so i cant say i went to Hisanoru which was quite quiet but still near enough the centre.
beaches are lovely

Of course it is safe for blondes! As safe as any other country. I am blonde, European and have lived in Turkey for several years.
Weather is good, people are friendly and it is relatively cheap.
why not try it and see instead of relying on others opinions of it?
