If God is omniscient and gives us free will, are choices are only an illusion. He MUST already know the outcome (or else He isn't omniscient).

So, that makes the whole Good vs. Evil melodrama just a perverse and tedious exercise - not to mention it being something akin to watching a rerun of a bad movie for Him.

Exactly.
If the outcome is known, by God or man, then it is impossible for "us" not to make the choice that was known. If the choice is truly subject to free will alone, the outcome cannot be known until the choice is made and Omniscience is a lie and he is not "God".

Our heavenly Father does know and He has given us all of the information we need for making our choice. He knows that we are very fickle and sometimes change our minds in the blink of the eye.

You can see how it plays out repeatedly in the Hebrew Scriptures. The people would promise to obey God and then disobey Him within hours or days. He would let them suffer the consequences of their disobedience and they would wise up and call upon God for help. He would help them and they would make more promises ...

Our heavenly Father does not want a single soul to be lost and He is giving us ample opportunity to draw near to Him. Nobody will be without excuse on Judgment Day.

He does know the outcome. He knows what choice we will make, but it's still our choice.

Good vs. Evil is a melodrama. Just be good. Be faithful, Be happy.

It's no more melodramatic that watching your toddler look over his shoulder at you while standing in front of a something he shouldn't have. He saw it. He walks up to it. You know he's going to pick it up. He knows he shouldn't. With time and discipline, he won't. But, there's a learning process he has to go through (some are a little slower than others).

That's why we call God, Father. He's more of a parent than we could ever consider!

God Bless,

MoP

He can know multiple outcomes to multiple causes although the actual outcome remains dependent of the free will of the individual creating the cause.

Knowing the outcome of someone's actions doesn't cause them to act in a particular way.

I know my child is going to sneak & get a cookie when I leave the room, because I know she wants the cookie & has little self-control. Her sneaking & getting the cookie is her own decision.

Sorry but you're a little confused. We do have the freedom to choose. God just knows beforehand what we will choose.

Rather simple, actually.

All these people who claim they know what God wants or thinks makes me sick. This is why there is so much trouble in the world.

yes, he knows the outcome. are you a god fearing person?
god seems almost naive to me. he knows the outcome, but he lays his trust in HUMANS, BEINGS WHO HE CREATED AND THAT HE REALIZES ARE NOT PERFECT to make the right choice, even though he knows they can't.
i mean c'mon. he doesnt even strike people down or have kids! wut kinda god doesnt do that?!?
