Has anyone got any experience of Internet Dating, like a match.com site? Positive or negative. I have a busy life and rarely get to meet men in the conventional ways (bars, clubs etc).... and I was wondering whether I should join one of these sites.... but I'm a little afraid that these places are just 'knocking shops'

Heres the thing.... people date on the internet, look for that perfect person with the shopping list of qualities and just keep dating looking for perfection. Go on a date? Not exactly perfect? No matter as you can have 5 other dates the next week with differnent people. This takes away from working into a relationship and appreciating that differences make a relationship fun. Sounds standard but take classes in something, make some new friends and the guy you want will come along.

A woman at work met a guy on Match.com. They have been dating 4 or 5 months and he seems to be a super nice and handsome guy. Of course, she has also met some losers and idiots and some who just wanted sex, but that comes with dating, whether on line or meeting people at the bar. It's worth a shot.

I'm married to a man I met on-line at christianmingle.com. I didn't find him overnight; I tried several sites (match, e-harmony, yahoo, etc) and after about a year and a half we found each other - just be patient. As someone else advised, there are many many out there just looking for sex - not a relationship. Don't be afraid - but do be cautious. Hope you have good luck.

follow your instincts!!! not every one is dangerous and a bad catch but unfortunately it is so easy to deceive someone on line..You could be talking to a rapist,a murder, or anyone.....and unfortunately you would not know until it was too late..You may be too busy but if you really want to find someone you will take the time you spend on the websites "searching for Love" and get out and find someone the good old fashion way face to face..if you don't have time to date now how will you when you find someone on here??? You can meet someone doing everyday things..it doesn't have to be in a bar or club..it could be at work on lunch, grocery shopping,at church, out when friends, anytime anywhere ..be safe not sorry..Good Luck

Match -girls told me guys pestering for sex. I found people stuck up and rude.

Udate - poor geographic searching south east is dover Reading to outer london, people often miles away. But you see whose checked you out.

Girls date for free - girls "knocking shop" Favourites plus can see whose cyber stalking you.

Loopy love - sister site of Girls date for free, pretty similar but you have to pay.

Dating direct - cant see whose looking at you only if they add you to favourites. If it had this it would be perfect. I have got many dates with some super females, just no mutual match :(

Photos can make or break, dont use webcam ones - you look awful! Avoid revealing ones, swim suits unless you got lots time on your hands, a girl showed mail going in nealry every 20secs!

I have had few relationships, the tutor of my post grad met a woman after losing his wife and they seem a lovely couple so how knows.

N.b Yahoo and Match have had scandals of employees creating false accounts to chat guys up to keep them subscribed.

I met a few men. Some were too old. One was too cheap. But after one of the guys left, I met the man of my dreams at the restaurant. Just make sure you meet them in a public place and don't give them your address right away.

Hi there,

GO FOR IT!!!!!!

I met my husband last year on a dating site and met a few guys before I met him.

It is perfect for busy people who don't have time to go out and meet people.

Stay safe and always meet in public and tell a mate where you are going.

udate is the site we went on, its quite good,

have a go and good luck.....

I think go for it, just remember to play it safe at all times, do not give out personal info like address ect to early,
I have a cousin who met someone quite sometime ago, she was chating to him for quite some time, after about a year she flew to meet him, but was told by his brother that he had to fly overseas on business at short notice, they told her he spoke very highly of her..she returned home and then sometime later after more chating over the net she was contacted by his brother and sister and told that he had died from cancer. I guess he didnt want her to knowand was trying to spare her the devestation of getting to close. she then went to stay with his family while attending his funeral.
She still keeps in contact with them and made some very dear friends
She has since met someone else online and again have been chatting for over a year, He has flown to her home town on a few occasions to stay and she is now planning to move interstate to his hometown.
I hope it works out for her and you too
Just take your time to get to know the person first..
a web cam is great for this after you have been chatting for some time and feel more comfortable...
goodluck on your new journey

I've experienced both. Men who are looking for a quick lay. And men who are just as busy as me (full-time student, 9 to 5 and single parent...can your plate be any fuller than mine). I've dated a few guys but the same problem arrises. So we're just friends now. But nothing beats a failure but a try....I say join!
