Understand, that women, are trying to determine whether you are worth enough for them to be with for the rest of their lives. Regardless of what they say they are looking for at the moment.

What is the natural instinct, why to people get together? To start families and have children. That may not be the outward appearance, but instinctively, that's where they are coming from. So they test men to see if they really want to share their genes with them.

One of the ways they test you is just to be in a really crappy mood and treat you fairly poor to judge your reaction (don't always blame the menstrual cycle). They may not even be doing it on purpose, but it's a test they tend to do. Depending on how you deal with it, is whether it shows them that you're someone that they want to be with in the long run.

I agree with lifeontrack's interpretation and that too much testing and mucking about can get old real quick.

Sometimes I get the impression that a lot of women feel they can play games with men because they reckon a man will put up with it if he's interested and not just after sex. Well, that's true to a certain extent, but not all men are desperate for a shag, a lot of the time we're looking for someone we can have a laugh with and have fun with. If a girl is messing about and playing games then we will eventually lose interest and move on to someone else.

If I were to ask a mate if he wanted to go see a football match with me and he started sodding about saying that he wasn't sure if it was a good idea, or that things might be getting a bit heavy, I'd tell him to f*ck right off.

Believe me it does happen well past the ages of 12 and yes it can be very annoying if taken too far.

Some testing is great, a guy likes a challenge afterall but too much can be a real turn off.

Women I think forget that sometimes men have a choice who they see as well, for me I'm looking for somebody I can get on with. I'm not likly to put together elaborate tests but her tests can put me off and not really provide her with the information she needs to know.

I think most of the tests are designed around commitment.

I often hear women tell other women to not make themselves to available to a man.

Oh and lastly I have felt manipulated by some women prior even to dating and again this is a complete turn off. So women, be careful if you like a guy, this strategy can backfire !

Basically, it's done for the fun of it. Don't go saying that you like the guy too fast, do ask yourself whether you are doing the same as above, or it is a real crush. Try not to give of too many false signs if you are flirting.

Test men? I've never heard of such practice, and certainly woudn't engage in it... doesn't sound very nice for the man, and well, just a bit needy and desperate for the woman.

Are you talking about 'The Rules'?

Or actual tests. Like, if you wanna go out with me you have to climb the highest tree in the park to prove yourself?

Think people stopdoing that when they get past the age of 12. You'll grow out of it...!

they like to play games to find out how long you will accept it, they want to know how much you care about them ,so they play all these stupid games.............i for one think it is a waste of time, and rather act right and hope that a man is kind and understanding. then both man and woman can build a relationship on truth and respect....life is too short to play silly games...

Some women do it, creating or lying to create a situation to see how a guy reacts. They could just ask him what he thinks. I think its teenagers, early twenties, or oddballs.
