You are so right!!! You have just thrown thousands of years of religion down the toilet! I'll just go out now and explain that they can stop believing now! Thanks for enlightening us with your profound reasoning!

Actually mate, there is...
It actually happened in Egypt about 15 years ago, where a church right on the nile bank exploded in flames as a result of an extremist terrorism attack, and the explossion caused on the of the bibles in the church to be thrown into the nile waters...and wouldn't know it? It actually floated.
And I dunno if it's relevant or not...a Catholic church in Melbourne experienced a fire as a result of an electrical shortage...and after the fire brigade had put out the flames, they walk into the church to assess the damage and saw two Large perfectly imaged Crosses on the wall behind the alter drawn from the smoke of the flame...it was all over the papers.
Not to say that such signs are ALWAYS gonna happen...but God allows it every now and then so that people such as yourself with such valid questions can have some answer...I would not recommend you go torche a church to see if it works for you...lol
I hope this helps...God bless.

The assumption here is that the Bible is the pillar and foundation of Truth. The Bible itself says otherwise. You're right though, we do need some source to tell us what's what, because the Bible is not always easy to interpret. If not the Bible, then what? Tim 3:15 says its the Church. There was only one at the time, and it had apostolic authority to teach doctrine. And, its first Pope did walk on water ...
God Bless,

Hey, how's it going? Well it's called faith. Believing it even though it is not seen. Being a christian myself, I feel God has shown Himself to me when I was looking for Him. I know He is real. But I also know that seeing is believing right! It's too bad it doesn't work out like that. You either believe or you don't. God doesn't do simple. But if you are truly in search for Him then you will figure it out. Man, I wish there was sign in the sky though, but would we really pay attention to it? I think God shows Himself everyday, but we have blinders on our eyes. I like your question though. funny, about the floating.

Of course on the earth there is one bible but there are so meny religions are made by human.the god is only one which is we consider like your concept SUN. we make the religions so we got so many priest from different culture. the God is also one like sun.
but the man make somany path to reach HIM.
for example:
there is mountain or sealand. and around it there r so many people are going to reach there. so there is not only one way to aim it. you can go from west or east / north or south .
so there is no doubt u will not reach there. you can reach there 101%. but as your way not anothers. so we suppose that like mountain or sealand are the God.and we have to reach there our own way. and reach to your GOD SUN how is the potrait in your mind.

Um..why would it float?
And No it wouldn't. That's why it's called a faith. There is no concrete evidence of it's existance. If some great religous phenomenom or sign has to happen to prove god is real before you believe. Then you aren't worthy anyways.

Because the Bible is written words on paper, that doesn't give it special powers, Even if it reall is the word of God.

Because the simple fact that God wants us to obey and choose for ourselves if God wanted you all to believe superficially then he could come down here right now, but He doesn't because he wants true followers.
